What customers say about "Key Specs"
Toshiba Canvio Basics (HDTB410EK3AA) Portable Hard Drive
  • The Toshiba Canvio Basics 1TB Portable Hard Drive is an excellent drive for what I needed it for, which was to add extra storage to my Xbox One.
  • This 2tb Toshiba worked perfectly just plug it in and its a simple set it up in your system storage settings and your ready to go. I currently have 20 games on mine and have only 33.4% used with 1.4 tb left
  • This Drive is good for a variety of uses. You can store you videos, pictures, and more on here. It's plug and play so you simply plug in and it shows up, much like a thumb drive. A LOT of storage, so you won't need to worry about running out of space.
  • This system is a perfect add-on external storage that acts as a proxy device for intermediate storage of information as the month goes bay - then exported to the massive devices' storage folders on five 5 terabyte devices. Has worked perfectly for a month now.
  • The support network that Toshiba offers is an unknown as compared to Seagate & WD in a lot of regions
Seagate Expansion (STEA1000400) 1 TB Portable 2.5 Inch External Hard Drive
  • Great compact enclosures. I would suggest putting on some small rubber 'feet' on the base to lift it up and allow any heat to dissipate more freely.
  • I decided on this one purely because of the price point, the capacity, and the fact it was a Seagate!
  • This is my 4th Expansion 4 TB USB 3.0 Hard Drive but I have 7 more ranging between 1TB and 5TB capacity. The first I purchased in 2007 and have never looked back. All are going strong.
  • I bought the 2TB version. Usually, there's a tiny inaccuracy in the capacity. This version is actually 1.81 TB.
  • High-capacity HDDs are also a worry of course, because when they fail they take away a *lot* of data in one go, so these are only used for remote copies of data that is mirrored elsewhere on entirely different devices.

What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Toshiba Canvio Basics (HDTB410EK3AA) Portable Hard Drive
  • This little gem is USB powered. Its also weighs very little too!
  • It came in a plain bubble package although it was a bit too big for the size of box this came in but it was in perfect condition.
  • The photo of the device can be bit misleading it's about the size of a 4 fingerd kit-kat bar!
  • This drive works well and is quiet. Is lightweight and a good size although there are lighter and more pocket sized drives for carrying around with a laptop and the like.
  • I have recently bought a new laptop that doesn't have a large storage size so I decided to find an external hard drive.
Seagate Expansion (STEA1000400) 1 TB Portable 2.5 Inch External Hard Drive
  • Opening the box, the unit is very compact, but functionally has done everything we’ve asked of it.
  • This device is so compact and reliable you can take it anywhere. Excellent value for money. Highly-recommended.
  • I bought it because it was compact but wish I'd gone bigger or another one now because it does feel like the manufacturers did the minimal they could.
  • I’ve never had any data crashes or losses, and the hard drive itself it small and compact for the amount of data it stores.
  • Runs smoothly and is nice and compact.

What customers say about "Features"
Toshiba Canvio Basics (HDTB410EK3AA) Portable Hard Drive
  • USB 3.0 (faster load times than my internal Xbox One drive by a little bit)
  • Quiet, quieter than my computer fan! I can hear it when it starts to spins up, but then it quiets right down.
  • Cool and quiet. This thing is basically silent so it won't annoy you regardless of where it is installed.
  • Small rubber feet on the bottom of the hard drive case prevent slippage
  • Would like to have had a longer cable. However the hard drive does reach the top of my PC case.
Seagate Expansion (STEA1000400) 1 TB Portable 2.5 Inch External Hard Drive
  • USB3.0 made loading the drive up for the boss a breeze. This feature is wasted on him, but will definitely benefit me down the line when adding new photos.
  • It could be quieter, but it has good power saving features such as shutting down when not plugged into a computer.
  • Works fine. Took a while to arrive. I can't give it 5 stars as durability and longevity are key features and I have just received it.
  • Note, this drive does not feature a Kensington slot.
  • Not too sure about the boasted feature that it doesn't need a power supply.
