What customers say about "Key Specs"
Maxtor M3 Portable Hard Drive
  • Neat littledrive with large capacity. Seems to work flawlessly under windows 10.
  • I can't see there being an issue with it but for the price and hard drive capacity it was a great but.
  • Good capacity for a good price. Bit shiny plastic tbh and not a designer product but hey ho what do you need it for?
  • SSDs are too expensive at this capacity to use as USB storage (for me) but I've used Maxtor products since 1995 without obvious issues over others. Stick with a main brand.
  • A very large capacity portable hard drive.
Seagate Backup Plus 4 TB Portable 2.5 Inch External Hard Drive
  • As the other reviews have described, this HDD is about capacity and not useful for a standard NAS.
  • I have a few external drives, WD 2.5" and WD 3.5" cloud drive, but I think for size and capacity so far I like this quite a lot.
  • My only concern in advance is with such a large capacity drive there is a lot to lose when this goes faulty, consider this if the device is to be primary storage, if this is level 2/3 then happy days people !
  • This drive is large in capacity, slim in size.
  • Needed a high capacity reliable drive to back up 3 computers, unfortunately, this had the capacity but not the reliability.

What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Maxtor M3 Portable Hard Drive
  • It looks good and it's the small size you'd expect of a portable drive. All good and no complaints!
  • I have a similar product but it is 1TB and this one is the same size as it and about the same weight which is great as it is so portable.
  • The hardisk worked as expected and durable (used it for almost a year now) yet compact!
  • 2.5 size drive size so very neat and tidy
  • Best to transfer a folder at a time depending on size.
Seagate Backup Plus 4 TB Portable 2.5 Inch External Hard Drive
  • takes a while due to the size of the disk, but has worked well so far (I've had to do this twice). Generally speaking, it's fast and reliable.
  • The drive is very small, about iPod Classic size and weight.
  • Don’t be fooled to think that this is a 7.5mm drive, its not. Size is nearer to 20mm but for an external device this simply doesn’t matter.
  • But this is true for any size, style or make of HDD, external or internal. Spend an extra £7 on a decent case would be my advice.
  • The size is great no bigger than a paperback book, two front facing USB PORTS for easy access, works quietly when engaged on backing up my RAW files

What customers say about "Features"
Maxtor M3 Portable Hard Drive
  • No software to install simply plugged in the usb and was recognised at once.Backup software appears to be installed on the drive but I prefer my own tied and trusted software so deleted the supplied ones.
  • Manual still mentions tray icons and use of "the Safely Remove Hardware" feature which do not exist in Windows 10, so ignore that.
  • The software provided with the user manuals was great simple yet elegant and had some interesting features such as creating invisible partitions that are password protected.. great for protecting privacy.
  • Excellent hard drive with the features as described by the seller. I use it to back up my daily work at the office.
  • It contains automatic backup software so it will back up your computer with all changes since your last backup – a terribly convenient feature.
Seagate Backup Plus 4 TB Portable 2.5 Inch External Hard Drive
  • A nice feature is the front panel USB ports for quick connection of temporary items, my Ecig battery in particular.
  • Drive was detected straight away on Windows 10 and there are various software features loaded onto the drive should you wish to use them.
  • At the time of purchase it was one of the cheapest drives on the market for the storage and features.
  • Great product good backup features
  • Poor sealing(glue slightly comming of lid seal)
