KRK RP8 G3 Studio Monitors - Pair
  • Great pair of speakers. Should have bought these years ago instead going through a few pairs of sub-standard monitors!
  • What? Whaaat? WHAA-? I can't hear what you're saying, my skull is friggin' caved in after turning this up to 50%.
  • They sound wonderful and achieve very loud volume levels when using a standard line level source.
  • The 8" version digs deep enough into the lower frequency range to provide adequate bass extension
  • As far as volume goes, because of the built in amps, you won't need any more volume.
Yamaha HS8
  • I've got some little active monitors which are pretty damn good but these, these really are studio.
  • Just got these monitors yesterday-hooked them up and ran reference music through them to test them out- outstanding at their price point for sure !
  • They can handle loud kick/ snare hits without clipping and the mids are clear and present.
  • They are loud without being too loud and are not harsh sounding at all.
  • They are sensitive and I think the 120W power rating is plenty.

What customers say about "Size & Weight"
KRK RP8 G3 Studio Monitors - Pair
  • These things are HUGE and very heavy. I'm a big fan of giant speakers
  • The 8's are very large for reference monitors! They fit snugly on either side of my computer monitor on a 48" wide desk.
  • I have a bigger size studio and the 5's were getting overwhelmed. Not these - they fill the entire studio beautifully without having to crank it all the way up.
  • These are much larger than one might expect if the specifications are not observed.
  • Overall body construction is also very solid and attractive looking
Yamaha HS8
  • Big, loud and clear. What more could you want in a studio monitor?
  • The HS8's sound good, look really sharp (pay a very close homage to their NS10M ancestors), and are a great value for the price.
  • These monitors are heavy, solid and powerful. If you're upgrading from 5-6" drivers, make sure you have stands that can hold monitors with this much heft.
  • Overall, well built & sounds great, which is what I would expect from Yamaha!
  • Upon receipt, were surprised by their size; if you are coming from a 5 monitor, these seem to be about twice as big. That said, build quality seems excellent, and he is extremely pleased with the results.

What customers say about "Audio"
KRK RP8 G3 Studio Monitors - Pair
  • Makes music a whole lot more enjoyable to listen to.
  • Cracking speakers they put orgasmic vibes into my ears with bass
  • I highly recommend these for people who enjoy all types of music and want a proper listen experience.
  • The bass will keep the squirrels off your roof and cause your uncle to have flashbacks of the war.
  • I bought 2. They don't sound good, they sound perfect. Outstanding imaging, like wearing really good headphones.
Yamaha HS8
  • Not even set up properly, one on a chair, the other propped on a table full of stuff they image like you wouldn't believe
  • The Yamahas are really quite something, especially for the $; solid, clear bass, crisp, detailed highs and open mids.
  • Frequency response and overall sound quality is amazing. Well worth the price.
  • The Yamaha HS8 a very accurate monitor. Deep low end, well defined mids, and crisp smooth highs.
  • Imaging is spot on, I can hear the texture of bass guitar, I'm not experiencing fatigue, and I am certain that I am hearing some things that I don't even notice

What customers say about "Features"
KRK RP8 G3 Studio Monitors - Pair
  • Absolutely stunning full sound. Turn off intelligently when not in use.
  • They aren't warm and fuzzy speakers. They reproduce sound the way it was originally mixed and allow you to make great mix downs.
  • They are really nice speakers. The bass sounds tight and accurate, with the dial set at 0 the low frequencies are quieter than my audio technica m50x headphones.
  • I keep the knobs at zero, to try to get as close to flat sounding as I can and adjust the eq in my computer.
  • These speakers offer a decent amount of tweaking (Lows and highs sensitivity) on the speaker itself
Yamaha HS8
  • I love the room control and overall function.
  • Because of space constraints, these are right in front of a hard surface, so I keep the "room" switch in the second position.
  • Made with a nearly seamless MDF plastic which is proving to be far more accurate and open, if not slightly more abrasive than a wood enclosure.
  • I don't have bass traps yet so the -2dB pad on the low end helps a lot to balance out the signal.
  • This seemed to be the most well reviewed among the ported designs in terms of accuracy and bass response.
