What customers say about "Key Specs"
WD My Passport SSD Portable SSD — USB 3.1 Type-C
  • The drive can reach speeds up to 540MbS, but that will depend upon how the drive works with your existing system.
  • Other than that it is a great product - super fast transfer speeds and it comes in an amazing size. Overall, I'd still recommend this product.
  • The combination of low cost, large capacity, speed of USB-C interface makes this a very appealing drive.
  • Fast, small, light, and the size surprised me enough that I took my wife's key and put it beside it to take a picture.
  • No matter how small you think it is, it’s smaller. It’s a solid value for the speed and convenience.
Samsung T5 External SSD — USB 3.1 Type-C
  • The transfer speed is also faster than I expected. I will by upgrading to 1TB (or higher) strictly for video soon.
  • While I'm not seeing the quoted average "up to" speeds of 500+ MB/s, they are still impressive.
  • I really love this portable speed demon. It's built very well and is the perfect size for putting in your pocket or laptop bag.
  • The transfer speeds between the internal SSD and the T5 are just quick.
  • Extremely slow on USB 3.0. Writing a 20GB file only does so at 24MB per second.

What customers say about "Features"
WD My Passport SSD Portable SSD — USB 3.1 Type-C
  • Boot time was also cut in half using the USB connected SSD (USB 2.0 connection) versus the internal drive.
  • Highest transfer speed I could get was 128MB/sec, MSI GT83 with 4GB SSD internal drive via Thurnderbolt 3 to this SSD Drive.
  • The drive comes with a USB-C cable, along with an adapter that allows it to be used on USB 3.1, 3.0, or 2.0 if needed.
  • It also comes with an attachment for the cord that lets you plug into a standard USB 2.0-3.0 and that snaps off to let you plug into the USB 3.1 SSD slot, it saves me some USB space. I highly recommend this!
  • Okay, so the speed is great. I love how portable this is. My only concern is that it gets scalding hot (not just warm).
Samsung T5 External SSD — USB 3.1 Type-C
  • Rugged metal case means I don't have to worry about dropping it.
  • It is encrypted which is another very valuable feature. It is a great failsafe!
  • The samsung software for Mac, providing password encryption and other features, does NOT work with Mac Sierra or Mojave OS.
  • I should also mention, it has a password function to allow the user to put in a password. The is a nice feature.
  • Adding a slot that would ingest SD cards dynamically like the Gnar box would be a cool feature. Get the biggest size you will use it.
