What customers say about "Key Specs"
ASUS VG278Q eSport Gaming Monitor
  • Amazing picture quality in games, and great framerates with the 144hz.
  • 144hz was amazing, these being my first set of 144hz monitors.
  • I’m on an Xbox One X, and even though it’s not 4K, the refresh rate/ms is a game changer.
  • At 144hz I have noticed no screen tearing and response rate is amazing.
  • I play competitive games that are demanding screenwise. This one is a good screen, especially for its response time and refresh rate.
ASUS (VG278QR-1) 27" Esports FHD Gaming Monitor (Up to 165 Hz, G-SYNC)
  • The monitor is pretty good quality it does 1920x1080p at 165hz.
  • May improve reaction times as you see the real situation slightly earlier than you would have done on a 60hz monitor.
  • This monitor is an excellent Full HD monitor with 165HZ refresh rate and rare 0.5ms response.
  • 165Hz was clearly an improvement on my previous 60Hz screen.
  • It is only HD, not 4K compatible monitor for such a big price.

What customers say about "Display"
ASUS VG278Q eSport Gaming Monitor
  • These TN panels don't have the greatest color or contrast, but they feature some of the fastest G2G response times available.
  • The quality for a TN panel was quite surprising as I expected the worst.
  • Love the colors. With a little adjustment to R/G/B I was able to get very bright and vibrant colors.
  • The colors are terrible! Even with tweaking the settings that are necessary to get a good picture.
  • Color is good but not vivid due to blue light filter.
ASUS (VG278QR-1) 27" Esports FHD Gaming Monitor (Up to 165 Hz, G-SYNC)
  • The picture quality is very good and after messing around with the settings can be outstanding.
  • This monitor gives a good level of brightness and colour contrast.
  • No Dead pixels on mine, no obvious ghosting, colours look fine to me out of the box.
  • The low response time TN panel coupled along the high refresh rate is amazing to play on with games like Fortnite and apex legends.
  • Colour felt different from my old monitors & found the colour options on the monitor not very helpful.

What customers say about "Features"
ASUS VG278Q eSport Gaming Monitor
  • This monitor is advertised as Free sync/Adaptive sync, but apparently also is now magically G-Sync compatible as well.
  • Tilt and angle are also great. Screen can be raised pretty high with the base and the built in cable management slots are very nice.
  • I liked how smooth everything felt due to the gsync (which worked fine) and 144hz.
  • Sound is weak from the tiny speakers in back, and they are facing away from the user.
  • I do not like the menu navigation because of the buttons placement.
ASUS (VG278QR-1) 27" Esports FHD Gaming Monitor (Up to 165 Hz, G-SYNC)
  • The monitor features some inbuilt settings, can get a cross hair to appear on the screen and there are varying styles and colors to choose from.
  • There is a timer feature and an fps counter, which I definitely going to use.
  • The monitor is easy to set up and use, easy to adjust the settings and has both height and tilt adjustment which is often missing.
  • As an aside, the base is great and allows for good up/down and left/right movement, as well as tilt/pivot.
  • The sound quality of the inbuilt speakers is Awful.

What customers say about "Connectivity"
ASUS VG278Q eSport Gaming Monitor
  • Easily connect with my Xbox One X with HDMI and works flawlessly.
  • I used the included displayport cable, and was able to set 144 Mhz with no issues.
  • At first I thought sound required a second cable to monitor, but it can play through displayport cable.
  • The screen came with cables and lot off connections ports, so that’s a great plus.
  • I connected an MSI GS63VR 7RF Stealth Pro gaming laptop with a GTX 1060 in it and it runs the monitor at 144Hz just fine at High/Ultra settings.
ASUS (VG278QR-1) 27" Esports FHD Gaming Monitor (Up to 165 Hz, G-SYNC)
  • Via the display port this display runs at 165Hz which is just cool.
  • The monitor comes with a Displayport Cable (which supports 165hz @ 1080p at least) and a DVI Cable.
  • The 165hz is only available through display port. on HDMI it's called at 120hz, which is still really good.
  • Lack on connectivity and if you switch from one connection to another e.g PC to console the button menu on the back if annoying and fiddly.
  • There is a slight buzz when using high refresh rate cables using one DP 165hz.
