Both read and write speeds are very fast, and the capacity is huge.
Plugged it in, popped in four WD Red disks, waited not all that long for it to initialize the disks, and have been happily using it since then without any issues.
I've installed two 2TB WD Red drives which have had around 1 month of up-time now with no issues. Great capacity.
I purchased two 4TB Seagate IronWolf drives for this product and I'm really happy. Supports all types which I need.
Very easy to install and use. There are four bays that all have access from the front and the bays are lockable.

This model is powerful, very good and reasonable price. Great number of bays.
Fast and quiet. Much faster than my old WD My Cloud.
It worked very well for me, I keep learning its different functions and uses.

With the four bays you get access to more RAID types 5, 6 and 10 over the basic mirror or no redundancy options.
The software and the options seems overwhelming.
The "Hyper Backup" tool is really effective.
The software suit are well designed and you have so so many options.
I really like the Synology software, I'm running my own VPN server so that I can access my network from outside when staying away from home.

QNAP TS-431P2 4-Bay NAS Solution

A great entry-level NAS, with a powerful CPU for the price.
The CPU is an ARM based quad core 1.4GHZ. It's got easily more than enough CPU and RAM performance for the Movie Streaming.
The suite of mobile apps, and the ease of access remotely is a dream come true. The UI is easy to use.
It was a easy to put together as the disks are hot-swappable.
Easy to install, has multiple options.

It supports two USB 3.0 expansion ports (for a printer or other devices) at the rear plus another at the front.
There is a USB port in the back along with 2x 1GB LAN ports (link Aggregation compatible) and a USB port up front. Great port location.
I was clocking crazy speeds moving data to them and between the NAS and an external USB 3.0 drive that were just insane.
It has two 1Gb network ports. Great product. Highly recommended.
Performance is as expected, I can saturate the gigabit ethernet connection fairly easily.

QNAP TS-431P2 4-Bay NAS Solution

It has 1 USB 3.0 port and 2 USB 2.0 ports, with the USB 3.0 port in the front. Great number of USB ports.
A good number of USB ports and their location is great.
The transfer speeds of this unit are truly astounding. Great gigabit Ethernet connection.
Unfortunately there is no HDMI connector.
I was upset when I found out that there is no HDMI connector.
