VonHaus 6 Blades

Two Blades for the Win

The VonHaus 6-Blade Double Stove Fan will not start a fire but the model will sure as shooting be able to maintain it. With its twin fans boasting 3 blades each, this compact yet productive unit is pretty remarkable at increasing air circulation. Operating between 60 and 350 degrees Celcius, these fans can automatically adjust to the stove's temperature.

Circulating between 250 and 320 cubic feet per minute, the model produces noticeable benefits in no time at all. Meanwhile, the magnetic temperature gauge will enable monitoring and optimising stove efficiency, so you'll be able to keep the room warm at an optimal temperature and prevent overheating.

Construction-wise, the hard-wearing aluminium that this unit's made from is no joke, meaning that you can put this one on the stove without worrying about the heat doing any damage or the fans deforming. The part that didn't necessarily impress us is the handle. It is small, impractical, uncomfortable, and overall awkward, which is not the worst thing since you're not carrying the fans every single day anyway but, when you start nitpicking, this is where the product somewhat falters. Removing this part from the equation, the VonHaus 6-Blade Double Stove Fan is quite brilliant.

Tomersun 3 Blades

A Silent Guardian

The Tomersun 3-Blade Heat-Powered Stove Fan is excellent in some ways but also a little insufficient in others.

Pertaining to the former part, with its unique construction, the fan is practically silent. You can even fall asleep next to the stove with this fan operating in the background, let alone watch TV without worrying that its blades might disturb you. What's also attractive about this product is its size. Measuring just 17 x 10 x 22 centimetres, this is the most compact stove fan we've seen yet. Needless to say, even stoves with different items like pictures, vases, and such on them should be able to accommodate this fan without making considerable space sacrifices.

As for the "insufficient" part, for starters, the paintwork is shoddy, so the housing might start losing its sleek all-black appearance with time. Other than that, its performance peaks at 150 CFM, which means that the fan will not be able to maintain large rooms.

Still, keeping in mind the price, size, and its almost silent operation, the Tomersun 3-Blade Heat-Powered Stove Fan is something that we can easily recommend people with stoves in a medium-sized room that want to make the room cosier without using an AC or a heater.

LUCKYDA Upgrade 4-Blade

Covering Sizable Rooms

The LUCKYDA Upgrade 4-Blade Heat-Powered Fan is not the biggest upgrade we've seen before, so we'd say that the product could use a different name. We're not saying that this is a bad stove fan though, not at all. We can even make the opposite claim. Sure, the fan is a little noisy, not the loudest specimen out there but not even approaching "silent" either, despite the company claiming "whisper-quiet" operation. However, we can back up the claim that the fan's construction is made from high-strength anodised aluminium, which means that the housing will not start forming rust patches or corroding eventually. We can also back up the claim that the unit does not require installation and can work right from the box.

There's nothing especially impressive about its inbuilt protection system that prevents the fan from overheating and nothing that interesting about the handle that this model comes adopting. But the same sentiment cannot be extended towards its operation reaching 200 CFM and covering rooms that measure at least ~25-30 square metres.

Long story short, as long as you're fine with this fan being a little noisy, there's very little chance that this heat-powered unit will leave you wanting more.

Tomersun Stove Fan

Immune Against Elements

There's rarely enough difference appearance-wise between these fans to justify addressing that, let alone starting the review on this note. That said, the Tomersun Stove Fan looks good enough to do just that. Its shiny black finish, slim stand, interesting blades, and streamlined construction make the fan look modern and elegant.

Constructed from anodised aluminium, the fan is basically immune against rust and corrosion. The housing won't start deforming or discolouring no matter what. At the same time, the anodised aluminium construction makes the fan resistant to high temperatures.

The model will have no issues with temperatures ranging from 55 to 350 degrees Celcius. The only problem here is that 55 degrees Celcius usually won't be enough to activate the fan, so you'll have to wait before the temperature inside the stove reaches ~70 degrees.

Also, the bi-metallic safety device will make sure to elevate the fan's front to protect the centre module and the motor from overheating when the stove surface's temperature rises above ~350 degrees. Besides that, the fan's really compact, measuring 8.3 x 6.3 x 3.6 inches or 16 x 12 x 21 centimetres.

Bottom line, the Tomersun Stove Fan will effectively and efficiently disperse the heat around the room. Plus, the handle will help with transportation.

Maison & White Heat Powered 4 Blade

Cheap but not Cheap

The Maison & White Heat-Powered 4-Blade Stove Fan is the cheapest model we could find that could compete with more expensive fans. For the most part, we've met this goal, setting aside the fact that the fan's not great with temperatures above 300 degrees Celcius but very few wood-burning setups reach that temperature anyway.

While we're not necessarily ecstatic about the fan capping at 150 CFM, meaning that the unit will not be able to maintain rooms above ~25 square metres, we can at least get behind the powder-coated finish on the blades, protecting them from rust and corrosion. We can also appreciate that this fan starts working when the temperature reaches just 60 degrees, whilst most stove fans do nothing until ~85 degrees. To add more, because the fan comes fitted with 4 blades, it is better at dispersing the heat around the room than standard 3-blade models.

The all-black paintwork with a clean and somewhat streamlined profile makes this model as attractive as its more expensive peers and the compact size (18 x 10 x 19 centimetres) will let you purchase this fan without worrying that the stove might not be able to accommodate it. So, assuming that you're not working with an especially large room, this fan will do just fine.

What Are Stove Fans?

There's nothing quite like a stove when it comes to improving the atmosphere and the overall vibe in the sitting room. That said, despite the fact that they were originally designed for this very purpose, stoves aren't always quite as effective in terms of even heat distribution. But, with a stove fan, you will easily be able to fix this unfortunate flaw of theirs. As you might have already figured out on your own, a fan like that is a simple tool that is used to distribute the warm air generated by a stove to the surrounding area. Despite their often small size, these little machines are capable of making a pretty sizable room much warmer, with some help from the fireplace, of course. They don't differ that much from each other but you might want to pay attention to the model's CFM numbers as those will display the force of the airflow and to the operating temperatures, and the latter, in turn, will determine what kind of temperature your stove fan will be able to handle.

Now, even though a fan is a fan, there are a few things that make these specific fans suitable for this specific purpose. So if you want more of a general-purpose fan, we would recommend our reviews of ceiling fans and misting fans.
