Klarstein ACO4-HeatPal-Mica15

Anyplace You Want

A few things make Klarstein ACO4-HeatPal-Mica15 (impeccable name mates, honestly) such a popular heater of choice. First things first, it is both a freestanding and a hanging model, already making this unit a whole lot more versatile than most of its peers. All of the mounting equipment is included in the package and it doesn't take a lot of effort to set it up. Second, the heater complies with the IP24 protection class, so you can also put it in the bathroom.

Other than that, what we have here is your everyday quality micathermic heater, give or take. The stepless temperature regulator is really convenient but the but its couple of heat settings don't present anything out of the ordinary. Just like most models equipped with the mica heatwave technology, Klarstein ACO4-HeatPal-Mica15 isn't just effective but also quiet.

Aside from its versatility, this heater stands out when it comes to the convenience of transportation. Its mountable feet give you a fixed stance. But the ground rollers allow you to effortlessly move it around. Finally, the unit includes an always welcome cable rewind feature with space in the back for the said cable. About the only issue we have with it is the white housing that gets easily soiled.

In short, Klarstein ACO4-HeatPal-Mica15 is easily the best micathermic heater in its price range. You can put it anywhere you want. It'll make a good addition to your living room or bathroom. Plus, the model is particularly portable and easy to move around.

Silentnight 38100

As Sleek as it is Functional

Silentnight 38100 is the only heater with a digital control panel in our review. Of course, a panel like that would stand out on a typical micathermic heater, so the manufacturers decided to stick with the modern theme and go all out. Truth be told, we can't say that we dislike the end result.

The black frame with its black grilles looks nothing if not stylish and the silver part housing of the control panel and the digital display creates a nice contrast, making the whole unit sleek and recognisable.

Of course, the model comes equipped with 2 heat settings, not dissimilar to its mechanical counterparts. On top of these settings, however, it also incorporates an 18-hour timer, a particularly convenient feature as one would expect.

Finally, the people behind the unit have implemented an anti-frost function. When the temperature drops below a certain pre-set degree, the heater automatically switches on. It helps to keep you comfortable and, in certain environments, reduces the likelihood of water pipes freezing and bursting.

Though the control panel is handy enough, the heater comes equipped with a remote control as well, so you'll be able to change the temperature in the room without leaving the sofa.

In other words, Silentnight 38100 takes a slightly different approach and introduces a touch of high-tech to micathermic heaters. What you get out of it is a sleek and functional appliance that is particularly convenient in use. Oh, by the way, this is also one of the most powerful heaters in its class.

Warmlite WL43009

Back to Black

Warmlite WL43009 is a simple, balanced product and that's where its strength lies. It doesn't include any unnecessary features but just about every part of it has been refined to a tee. Power-wise, the model gives you 2 heat settings.

The first, 1000W one will be more than enough to heat up a sizable room. The second, 1500W setting, on the other hand, will allow you to keep an entire office (albeit a relatively small one) warm.

That power may very well come in handy because, with its slim, black flat panel, the unit doesn't just make for a nice addition to your home but would also prove a good fit for smaller commercial spaces like conservatories, food establishments, or the aforementioned offices.

Naturally, you don't want to buy a multitude of heaters but freezing to death in one of the rooms isn't an option either. Fortunately, the unit boasts built-in easy-glide castor wheels, so you'll be able to easily manoeuvre the heater around the area.

Not one of those functions we haven't seen before but we appreciate that the manufacturers didn't forget to include the overheat protection and a tip-over switch. After all, you can never feel too safe when using a radiator and these little features provide a nice peace of mind.

All in all, Warmlite WL43009 is a great micathermic heater for everyday use in smaller to medium spaces. It quickly and efficiently heats up just about any area, so you can put it in your bedroom, bring it to a workshop, place it in a garage, or buy one for the office.

Aironic MH2000

Lots of Power in a Slim Frame

Aironic MH2000 is a powerful heater first and foremost. Relying on radiant heat as well as convection heat, the model boasts a maximum input power of 2000 watts. As it is often the case with these heaters, it comes equipped with an adjustable mechanical thermostat that will allow you to control the temperature.

There are 2 heat settings here. The first one, with its power of 1500 watts, will be more than enough for just about any limited residential area and even smaller commercial areas. The second setting is a whole different animal.

With its help, you'll be able to warm up not just a sizable commercial space but maybe even a smaller industrial one. Equipped with 4 micathermic panels, the unit quickly gets going and doesn't need more than a couple of minutes to warm up the room.

It isn't just its performance though. Its black contemporary-looking design with white and silver frames on the side meshes really well with modern interiors. Featuring 4 wheels and 2 handles, the model is handy to manoeuvre around. Plus, the unit is really slim. Considering its 8 centimetres of width, you'll easily be able to find enough space for it. Add to that the 1.8-metre long cable and you have yourself a winner.

To sum it all up, Aironic MH2000 has a lot going for it. It is a powerful micathermic heater that will prove a good fit in a variety of commercial spaces. Despite its power, the model is virtually silent. The plastic holdings always remain cool, so the unit will never be a safety hazard.

Haeger MH-060.001A

A Budget Model for a Little Warmth

Haeger MH-060.001A is about as basic as micathermic heaters get. Sure, it still benefits from the mica heatwave technology, so it has your average budget ceramic and radiant heaters beat as far as the heating speed is concerned. But, compared to every other model in this review, there isn't a whole lot to cover here.

Sure, it isn't the most powerful heater. Equipped with 2 heat settings, it features a maximum input and output power of 600 watts. As you'd imagine, it won't be enough to heat up a sizable room. This is the type of heater that you bring to an office and put it next to your desk. It will be able to keep you warm without affecting your colleagues sitting right next to you.

Of course, you could also place it in the living room or put it right next to your bed. It may not be powerful enough to keep a freezing cold room warm and cosy but it is a good unit to raise the temperature, enough to make you feel a lot more comfortable. And, as it is always the case, there's an upside to its lack of power, the upside being that it doesn't consume a whole lot of energy, so it won't rack up your energy bill.

As far as ergonomics go, this is a freestanding model with 2 support legs and a handle, so it stays put and doesn't wobble around the floor. The handle makes it convenient enough in transportation, even though the unit doesn't incorporate wheels, so it won't be as easy to manoeuvre around the house.

To put all of it a little differently, Haeger MH-060.001A is the type of heater you get when the temperature in your room or the office is a little too chilly for your taste. It won't be able to make an entire room go from 5 degrees Celcius to 25 but it will be able to make you feel cosier and more comfortable.

What Is a Micathermic Heater?

If you’ve ever felt a bit too cold in your home, you’ve likely resorted to using space heaters to get a much-needed warmth boost. However, many models are kind of bulky and will take up a spot too large for your comfort. Besides, you don’t want the appliance to take an hour before any effect is felt. So, instead of relying on the old tech, you can turn to an affordable and effective micathermic heater. This type of device uses a mica stone to emanate electromagnetic rays of warmth all around the room. That way you get both convection and reflective heat, which effectively speeds up the device’s operation and warms the whole room faster.

But faster effect isn’t the only thing that draws people to the mica heaters. They are also quite slim as they don’t have to make room for many technical parts, exchanging them for a thin layer of mica instead. This leaves the heaters practically flat and easy to store when not in use. Plus, they can still be wall-mounted for even more convenient placement.

With that said, winter is coming fast and if you want to stay cosy, you should also consider getting a few throw blankets to snuggle up in. Or, perhaps, an ethanol fireplace will add warmth and a certain rustic charm as well.
