This lens is superb. It's also got longer focal length than the 18-55 kit lens which is a bonus.
If this focal length is the right one for you, then look no further and don't be afraid of buying it because it never fails to impress. Well done, Canon!
It's aperture is wide open at F/4 so your not going to get a lot of bokeh or background blur in your photos. But it was than I was expecting especially on my Canon 6D.
The focal length is excellent for most photo's. The image quality is simply stunning!
The 24-70/4 is nice and sharp, but I really wish it had a larger aperture.

The focal range is extremely useful, images are very sharp - especially considering the price of this lens.
It's quite usable for portraits if you use focal length and distance to create blur rather than relying only on aperture to achieve an out of focus background.
A great travel lens. A fixed f/4 capability, at any focal length in the 24-105mm range, can come in useful.
Absolutely great lens quality!!! Always get L lens, it will give you amazing sharpness all the way with different focal length and apperture.
One nice feature that the optical magicians at Canon has pulled off though, is the fact the lens is somehow able to maintain its f.4 maximum aperture throughout the entire focal length range!

The weight is truly reflected in the stunning images you can capture thanks to the glass inside.
The weight of the lens is superb for all day shooting. The bokeh is delicious.
It is very small and light to carry, and thanks to its maximum aperture it can deliver good results in low light conditions.
What a lovely lens, sharp, small. discreet and with a large aperture of F4.

It is relatively compact and not too heavy. It balances well on my Canon 40D.
Lens is pretty compact (especially if you can get by without using the hood), which makes it look less imposing.
It is very well built, compact and (comparatively) lightweight.
Build quality is excellent as expected, but the lens is quite compact and light.
I recommend this lens to anybody looking for a lightweight and good quality.

All the focusing is done internally, so you can put a filter on without having to readjust it every time you change focus on a subject.
Autofocus is great when shooting handheld as it's fast, quiet and provides crisp images.
The build quality is great, and the image quality is quite good as well. Recommended.
The Image Stabilisation (IS) works brilliantly and image is sharp pretty much across the frame.
The L lens is shorter, better built, feels nicely balanced with the 6D, produces lovely colourful, sharp images and has a useful macro capability.

The image stabilization is quiet, quick and allows shooting handheld at much lower shutter speeds.
I saw the results, and I was astounded. The colors - amazing. The sharpness - unbelivable. The step up in quality was incredible.
The zooming action is smooth and it focuses very quickly and quietly under most conditions.
The 24-105 is one of the most versatile lenses I have ever used. It has fast focus, sharp--very sharp-- images and a nice D.o.F.
I've owned this lens over a year now and have to say the 24-105 image quality is superb, and build quality is what you'd expect from am "L" lens.

Add a sharpening filter in post and you have the sharpest photos possible.
Excellent lens with very good macro function. Works very well on my Sony a7ii (with adapter).
The macro feature is a brilliant feature. I can take portraits, landscapes and some close up photos all with this one lens. It's not strictly macro but it is very close to it.
Actually has pretty good macro along with the stabilisation this is a very flexible lens - I use it on the second camera when shooting products.
Good value with the Canon rebate. Very sharp lens with IS. Macro works.

This lens is perfectly suited to full-frame DSLRs. It balances well on a 5D II, it's not too large, the zoom range is ideal for a walkaround, focus is fast and silent.
Build quality. Simply superb, as one expects from an "L" lens. The zoom and focus rings are silky smooth.
This is my first L series purchase and the build quality is exactly what everyone is saying, its built like a tank.
The build quality is legendary compared to any lenses I'd used previously. When I hold this lens in my hand, I feel like it will last forever.
The rings turn smoothly and feel like quality rubber. Very comfortable for use.
