The lens has the right weight and size to allow you to handhold with the camera for long periods of time.
The lens is pretty heavy but compact for a 400mm f5.6 maximum reach.
The new twist-to-zoom and compact size make this glass easy to use and less prone to sucking in dust.
Weight is just right, and of admirable size.
Only downside for me is the weight of the lens, it gets heavy after carrying it around for extended periods.

It's not as heavy as to be an issue without support.
The images are crisp, and has good size.
Good size, great shots. Fits well in my backpack.
The weight is too heavy for long term use.
It is heavy, hands get tired with prolonged use.
