The edge-sweeping brush is positioned at a 27-degree angle. It helps the brush sweep debris away from edges and corners. The auto-adjust cleaning head automatically adapts to the height of the head. The Dirt Detect technology won't miss a single piece of debris.
Doesn't cope well with wires and cables.

iRobot Roomba 671
Precise and Thorough
The iRobot Roomba 671 is a pretty well-rounded product. But we believe that the model owes most of its success to its precision. After all, robot vacuums are still considered to be more of a complementary piece to your regular vacuum as they simply aren't as good at cleaning. The technology has come a long way but a human being with a vacuum cleaner still beats an automatic vacuum any day of the week. And while we can't say that the model in question will be able to change this paradigm, it comes pretty darn close.
First, there's the Dirt Detect technology, a technology that, as you would infer from the name, excels at detecting dirt and grime, so you get a much more thorough cleaning job.
Of course, it's one thing to detect the dirt and the grime, but dealing with it is a whole different animal. That is where the company's very own 3-stage cleaning system comes in. It incorporates a dual multi-surface cleaning brush, an edge-sweeping brush, and vacuum suction. The system essentially attacks everything in its way, from some of the smaller particles to large debris. It works equally well with carpets and hard floors.
The iRobot Roomba 671 incorporates a full suite of intelligent sensors. These sensors guide the vacuum around and under your furniture. With their help, the Roomba 671 cleans your floors without getting stuck between the furniture.
All of the Sensors
The robot vacuum's sensors are its bread and butter. On top of everything we've mentioned above, there's also the auto-adjust cleaning head. The feature allows the said cleaning head to automatically adapt its height. It may not sound like much but the function makes the model much more effective at cleaning carpets.
The cliff sensors aren't too shabby either. They help the device avoid stairs and other potential drop-off areas, so you won't have to worry about your vacuum cleaner's safety.
The only issue we have with it, and we don't quite know whether it is the sensors or the construction, but the model isn't particularly great at dealing with wires and cables. It's not a huge issue but you might want to hide some of them to prevent the robot from getting stuck.
It isn't a game changer by any stretch of the imagination but we would still like to point out the convenient built-in handle of this device. It's a small thing but it really helps you pick the robot vacuum up and carry it around the house. It is very handy considering that the unit is a bit heavy and it might be hard to lift it up.
Other than that, just like the majority of its peers, the model is Wi-Fi connected and can be operated via Alexa or Google Assistant.
In short, the iRobot Roomba 671 is almost too precise for a robot vacuum cleaner. It does a really thorough job. On top of everything else, we liked the iRobot HOME app, mostly for the reports and its ability to visualise the cleaning process.
Eufy RoboVac 11c
Use Your Smartphone as a Remote
The Eufy RoboVac 11c has quite a lot going for it. But what we liked most is probably the controls. Sure, you get your usual deal, with the ability to control the robot via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant's voice control options. There's also the remote control that you can use to manage the robot vacuum cleaner from a comfortable distance.
The possibility of downloading the company's application and controlling the robot through that application is nothing to write home about either since most robot vacuums will give you that opportunity.
But the app itself is certainly worth talking about. The EufyHome application impressed us with a couple of things. First is the straightforward interface that won't have you navigating through a bunch of unnecessary menus and tabs in order to find the necessary setting.
Using this app, you will be able to manually guide the robot if you want to and have full control over the cleaning process. One feature we liked in particular is the Find My Robot function. If you manage to lose sight of the RoboVac, just choose this option and the app will help you locate the robot.
No Dirt Is Welcome
Of course, it isn't just the app that makes this product such an attractive option. Among other things, we could certainly talk about the low-profile design of the robot. As the model is less than 8-centimetres (3.1 inches) tall, it will be able to slide under all kinds of furniture and remove some of the more hidden dirt. From couches to coffee tables, there isn't an area that the device won't be able to reach.
Performance-wise, the Eufy RoboVac 11c is no joke either. Provided with an impressive suction power of 1000 Pa, it will be able to pick up any dirt or grime. But it isn't just the power that really wows us.
Part of the construction is a rolling brush and 2 side brushes. They loosen and extract even the toughest pieces of dirt from the floor, then the said suction power comes into play and vacuums it all into the dust collector.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work that well with high-pile carpets, but the same can be said about most robot vacuums. We also wouldn't recommend using it on the dark-coloured floors.
The cleaning modes that the model incorporates are fairly standard but we would like to highlight the Max mode. You can use it to concentrate the cleaning power of the device on some of the more stubborn dirt and those difficult-to-vacuum areas that most robot vacuum cleaners aren't equipped to handle.
All things considered, the Eufy RoboVac 11c is a solid option because it is really easy to use. Its suction power is enough to pick up toast crust. The model won't lose to any other robot vacuum cleaner as far as manoeuvrability is concerned. And it will make vacuuming a chore of the past.
iLife V3s Pro
Focuses on Picking up Pet Hairs
If you're looking for a simple and affordable pet vacuum without all those extra frills, the iLife V3s Pro is a solid fit. Of course, it's not a fully-fledged vacuum for spring cleaning, yet it does its main job perfectly. It can give you extra help at removing dirt and pet hair around the house. The vac works especially great in small apartments with hardwood floors and a few rugs and carpets. The iLife V3 robot is a manoeuvrable vacuum that can easily get around obstacles. Unlike similar cleaners in its price range, it goes easily around table legs yet it's not able to reach 90-degree corners and conquer the largest transition between tile floors and hardwood floors. Besides just sucking up what's on the floor, this vac can also mop it. The trick is that it comes with a snap-on mopping attachment which can be secured to the bottom via Velcro. We would like to note that it's one of the few robot cleaners that offers an extra mopping function. The mop adds to the versatility and ease of use significantly.
With a handy remote, you can quickly select the setting you need. If you want to clean mainly around the edges, you can set the Edge mode, and the vac will pay particular attention to sucking in everything along the walls. In Auto mode, the robot starts in the middle of the room and continues cleaning until the battery almost runs out of power, and when it does, it docks itself automatically. The cleaner has an amazing battery life. The 2.600-mAh battery can last up to 90 minutes.
With regards to the frustrating features, there's one thing that did swing to us - a dustbin. Unlike its rivals, the iLife V3s Pro has it quite deep inside, under the pop-up flap, and to empty it you will need to fiddle with it a bit - pull it out by its handle, remove the lid, take the filter out, and dump its contents. Other than that, though, there is little to complain about and we can certainly say that the iLife V3s Pro is more than up to the task when it comes to collecting cat and dog hair.
The iLife V3s has a sleek, nice design. It's a good option for those who want something modern and well-made. The chassis has a white/grey/black trim to suit any interior. At 11.8" in diameter and 3" high, the V3s vac is one of the most compact robotic vacuums on the market. Needless to say, it easily fits underneath couches, bed frames, and dressers.
This little unit has front obstacle sensors, "cliff sensors", and a durable plastic bumper to ensure long life of the appliance. The vac doesn't feature a primary rolling brush but it has two spinning brushes to catch all the dirt and debris. They move even the smallest particles into the "mouth" of the vacuum.
If you are looking for a capacious vacuum cleaner that has the potential to deal with the pet hair in a large area, the iLife V3s will suit you to a T. This robot vacuum has the ability to thoroughly clean your flat. Considering its highly efficient performance and modest price, it is definitely the best robot vacuum for pet hair you can find for its price.
Ecovacs DEEBOT N79S
Great Value for the Money
If you're not looking for a complete substitution for a traditional vacuum cleaner, the ECOVACS DEEBOT N79S can be the best bet. It's a very affordable option that can reduce the effort needed for regular cleaning significantly. The DEEBOT N79S is an upgraded version of the popular DEEBOT N79. It features a Max Mode suction option which allows you to increase its suction power by 50% in 2 settings, Auto and Single Room cleaning. By the way, the Auto Cleaning mode is best suited for daily cleaning chores, while the Single Room mode is good for cleaning one specific room. All you need to do is enable the bot and close the door. Also, the vac has 2 additional modes: the Spot Cleaning mode and the Edge Cleaning mode. The Spot Cleaning setting isn't for daily cleaning but it's perfect for cleaning rooms with a high concentration of dirt. In this mode, the vac cleans in a spiral pattern to dig out stained dirt and pet dander. The Edge Cleaning mode is designed for removing dust and debris in the corners and along the walls. When the charge level drops low, the unit finds itself back to the charging station to start recharging. We would like to point out that the N79S has an air filtration system that captures tiny particles ejected into the air during cleaning.
The N79S Robot Vacuum is much more sophisticated than other models in its price range. This model is compatible with the ECOVACS App allowing you to get the stats, receive alerts, or configure the item to clean on a preset schedule. The app just requires 2.4GHz or higher Wi-Fi. You can also use Alexa voice commands to direct cleaning. Yet, if for some reason you can't use the ECOVACS App or Alexa, the vacuum is supplied with a traditional remote. So, having the Wi-Fi set up is not as important, making this especially useful for those with no Internet connection. With the included remote control, you can activate the bot, switch between the cleaning modes, schedule the cleaning, and configure other settings remotely.
To remove even the driest mess after your pet and all the dog or cat hair from your floors, consider buying the N79S Robot Vacuum. With its high suction power, it will remove even the toughest debris. And the convenient controls will make the use of this robot vacuum for pet hair a piece of cake.

This vac easily connects to the Wi-Fi network, thus giving you the option to control it remotely. You will only need to download the Eufy app, which is compatible with both iOS and Android mobile platforms, and off you go to set up the run time and cleaning program you need. With this app, you can control the vac from anywhere and give it voice commands using the Google or Alexa assistant - handy when the vac is out of your sight or when you want to send it to the charging station. The good thing is, the Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac has a long working time of about 100 minutes, which means you won't need to worry about recharging it that often. 100 minutes is long enough to clean most any average-sized house. For the convenience of users, the Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac includes a remote with two AAA batteries in the set. Another strong point about the Eufy BoostIQ RoboVaс is that it is really quiet. Fitted with a brushless motor it doesn't emit any noise; you can easily run it at night without worries of bothering your family.
Slim and Sleek
Now, let's get to details. The thing hard not to notice is that the Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac is very sleek and slim. It looks sophisticated and can provide the best cleaning thanks to the combo of technologies and the amazing suction power of 1500Pa. The vac has large wheels and can roll over elevated objects with ease, making it equally effective at cleaning carpets as well as hardwood floors. The 3-Point cleaning technology consisting of three brushes allows the vac to loosen, extract, and suck in the dirt, and the specialized dual hall-sensors make sure that the vac stays and cleans within the areas you want. To avoid collisions with door ledges and furniture, the Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac is designed with 9 infrared sensors which, upon registering an object, make it change its route without your control or help. All this ensures that this vac provides a superior cleaning and does its job fantastically.
So, if you're looking for an effective and affordable robot vacuum that will give you excellent cleaning and work effectively on all types of floors including carpets, get the Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac. For its low price, it will do its job perfectly with no attention required.
What Is a Robot Vacuum for Pet Hair?
If you're a pet owner, you know for sure that the hair of your furry pet is just everywhere, especially during those hot summer months. And if you're sick and tired of constant cleanups, buying a robot vacuum for pet hair can be an amazing solution. The advantage to a robot vac is that, once you program it for daily cleanups, it will do the rest for you, cleaning your floors of pet hair, dander, dust, dist, as well as allergens that linger in the air. Top-shelf robot vacs are designed so that they can easily travel around rooms, climb over thresholds and carpets, and bypass obstacles. This means you no longer will need to clean pet messes by hands - a robot vacuum will do the job for you, allowing you to spend more time with your little four-legged friend.
Since the market offers plenty a choice, we've narrowed down this review to only the best five robot vacuums for pet hair. Hopefully, you'll find our tips and guides useful and make the right choice.
Those who are still wavering whether to opt for a robot vacuum or consider some cheaper solutions might be interested in our review of handheld vacuums. These are also used for collecting pet hair but come at a much lower price tag.
What Features to Compare
First and foremost, you need to pay attention to the intelligence of a robot vac. By this, we mean the navigation technology and cleaning pattern. The smarter the vac, the more effective cleaning pattern it has. Manufacturers do their best to provide the vacs with a bunch of useful features and extra attachments. For instance, the majority of high-end vacuums feature bumpers with infrared sensors that prevent them from falling down the stairs or collisions, thereby protecting your furniture from any damage. Moreover, most robots are able to detect the dirtiest sports and clean them more efficiently. The most affordable models usually have such standard patterns as "Along the wall" and "Chaotic". Speaking of more expensive cleaners, they boast up to 10 patterns and can move in a spiral or zigzag pattern. The smartest units even can create a map of your house and know exactly where the furniture is. They will automatically avoid the detected obstacles, thus speeding up the cleaning process.
Like their full-on handheld counterparts, these vacs can be adjusted to the type of floor they’re cleaning. The suction power can be changed when the device works on a carpet or on any kind of hard floor. Some vacuums adapt automatically, and some simple models should be adjusted manually. The robotic vacuum cleaners may also feature a spot mode, which allows them to concentrate on a particular area and clean it more thoroughly.
Every robot vac has a recommended cleaning area according to its operation time per a single charge. The battery type and the charging time are the main features that determine the runtime. The higher the battery capacity is, the larger the area the item can vacuum. The majority of robots can return to their charging bases once the battery is low.
Considering that the word “robotic” is in the title, the controls of such a vac shouldn’t be a pain in the neck for you. Most of the models feature an automatic mode, that’s why all you have to do is press the button on you device, remote or even phone, if your model comes with a corresponding app. More high-end vacs are compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control the unit simply with your voice. Some of the robotic vacuums can also be programmed to clean on schedule, which will help to keep your house clean even when you are at work.
Finally, pay attention to the extra features a robotic vac offers. Today, you can find models with a mopping function for wet cleaning. Once you attach the mop, the vac will get rid of even the trickiest stains on floors. Furthermore, some models are equipped with UV lamps for complete disinfection. They can sanitize the surfaces by killing bacteria, germs, and allergens. Both these features are extremely useful for pet owners, as pet hair is one of the most common triggers of indoor allergies. Many top robotic vacs also boast advanced HEPA-filtration systems that can trap even the smallest dust particles and allergens consequently. So, if you want to live in a healthy environment, opt for models with these useful extras.
Did you know?
For all the owners who are looking for a robot vacuum for pet hair, we selected some interesting facts about our small furry friends and their life all around the globe.
The Highest Rate of Pet Ownership
According to the Guinness World Records, Australia is the country with the highest rate of pet ownership. More than 60% of families there have at least one pet, typically a cat or dog. 83% of Australian people have owned a pet within their whole life. And 20% of Australian pet owners have insurance for their four-legged friends.
Yet, according to the newest online surveys, pet ownership is currently the highest in Latin America where 80% of the population owns a pet. In the US, around 70 % of households have a pet.
Asian countries have the smallest percentage of pets living with people.
Dogs or Cats?
A third of the population across the world has reported having a dog compared to 23% as cat owners. Dogs are the most popular pet in Argentina, while cats are the most widespread in Russia. Romania has the most balanced cat/dog ratio with 45% of households with dogs and 45% owning cats.
The people in the UK spend more than 4 billion British pounds annually on their lovely pets. And more than a half of cat and dog owners would consider paying more for their pet's healthcare than for their own one. It's simply no wonder that 95% of Brits claim that they consider their favourite pet as a part of their family.
The Most Pet-friendly Countries
France is the country of dog lovers and you can see dogs just anywhere there. Dogs are even welcome in shops, cafés, bars, and markets.
Aussies also have lots of places where dogs are welcome, including beautiful beaches and parks. The exceptions are national parks. Dogs are also allowed in public transport if the transportation rules are strictly followed.
Another country with lots of animal lovers is England. You are allowed to take your pets to the underground, parks, and some museums. Dogs just should be kept on their leashes.
Austria is a leading country in stopping animal cruelty. There is a ban on selling cats and dogs at pet stores as well as some guidelines against training methods that involve force.
Hungary also wants the best for their animals and requires that dogs should necessarily get a minimum required amount of exercise daily. Also, pets there are microchipped and should undergo frequent medical checkups. Pets are welcome at restaurants in Hungary.
The Netherlands is one more country where you can freely take your pet with you to shops, restaurants, and cafés.
All pet owners in Switzerland are required to get pet insurance, and there are also some rules preventing cruelty to dogs during training. Moreover, Swiss airlines allows people to take small dogs in the aircraft cabin.
Canadian people love pets as much as we do but unlike European countries, it's not permitted to take pets to restaurants in Canada. Yet, our neighbours have numerous spas for dogs and full-service pet daycares.
