- Really nice lens. Gives you just right amount of focal length for walking around.
- This lens very versatile, the 18-140 range covers virtually everything I need, so this is usually the lens on my camera.
- Lens sharpness is good esp central region across the focal range even at 140mm f5.6 (it's surprisingly sharp here).
- I am very impressed with this lens. It does everything I want, going from wide angle to telephoto and good aperture, leading to good exposure.
- Sharpness, zoom range, max aperture, build quality, size and weight, price, and projected image size are amazing.
- Wide enough aperture for most purposes, while maintaining a relatively light and compact lens.
- This lens is able to achieve excellent image quality throughout its range, while maintaining a size and weight which are a joy to use.
- It is compact and covers the most commonly used range of focal lengths.
- I like to use this kind of focal length for cityscapes, such as London, where the lens is relatively understated, but still having some decent pulling power.
- It was a great lens but I was looking for the longer focal length and an improvement in quality.
- Sharp, light and nice range but still a compact size. I love it! Reommended!
- It's quite a hefty beast and fitted on the D7100 it's not a light weight package but I've walked up lots of mountains in the month I've had it and not had a problem.
- It is still half the weight of a full frame camera with the equivalent lens. It has been a total game changer for me.
- From the short time that I have had to use this lens I am glad that I have chosen this size over the shorter standard zoom.
- The balance is very good on this combination and not too heavy to carry around all day.
- It is very well built, compact and (comparatively) lightweight.
- It's light enough not to require support every time you get it out of your bag.
- I was concerned about the overall length, as my favourite camera bag is quite dinky, but the 70-300 is really quite compact and pretty lightweight too.
- For a 300 mm lens at this price, it's got genuinely useful features, it's compact, not too heavy and impressively sharp - Fantastic value!
- If you are looking for a lightweight telephoto this probably is not for you, it is pretty heavy to carry but does balance well on camera.
- It's able to maintain good image quality and sharpness across the range which is something neither of the other lenses can really manage.
- The optical results are very good with the image stabilisation most welcome, especially at the long end of the zoom.
- The focus is very smooth and easy to use it just feels like quality I love this lens.
- I was surprised at the great quality of this lens considering the fantastic price. Good bokeh, sharp focus and fast. I highly recommend this.
- Work well, solid build, no issues so far. Nice pictures even at high zoom, good focus, all is well.
- As a club photographer I find the image quality is everything I need.
- Using on D750 clear sharp images, great range, fast focus and great image stabilisation.
- Fantastic lens, bit heavy but images really nice, I am a beginner to photography but i pleased.
- Great lens. Gives sharp image, even in extreme telephoto mode. Not too heavy either.
- Auto focus is rapid and spot-on.would definitely recommend to all Nikon D7100 users.
- This lens is sharp throughout its range and the VR helps a lot in low light conditions.
- The VR is actually a lot more useful than I thought it would be. It definitely sharpens things up when running and gunning handheld in the city.
- The VR is a huge help for lower light conditions, and the focus is spot on. Great lens overall.
- The notable features are an actual AF/MF switch, the ability to accept filters, and VR.
- VR mode is simply on/off no setting for "active" for panning etc, not a huge problem but worth a mention.
- The autofocus is fast and exceedingly quiet, and the VR is very effective, if a little spooky.
- The Vibration Reduction is extremely effective enabling the use of much slower speeds than other telephotos with this focal range.
- This is an immense lens, my pictures are so sharp thanks to the incredible Nikon VR image stabilisation system.
- The vibration reduction is excellent as I used it on safari produced great photos even when in motion.
- VR Stability works very well and I leave it on all the time. I have not tried the VR panning setting yet as I tend not to do this and so it stays in full control.
