CONS

The screw stopper could have a more robust design.

OUR VERDICT

The Cryopaq Large Luxury Hot Water Bottle pulls triple-duty, serving as an ice pack and a cosy cushion as well as a bottle. The plush cover is available in six colours, making this product a brilliant gift. Plus, the cover is pleasant to the touch and soft against the skin.

CONS

You cannot choose the cover design.

OUR VERDICT

The Beamfeature Soft Fleece Cover Hot Water Bottle will not let you choose the design but you can choose to use this bottle to facilitate flexibility in stiff joints, aid muscle recovery, and relieve soreness. Also, most designs available at the moment look pretty charming.

There's a noticeable rubbery smell to the bottle.

OUR VERDICT

The Cassandra Ribbed Surface Hot Water Bottle will let you choose between a standard smooth side and a ribbed side, with the second option dissipating more heat and the first option being more forgiving towards the skin. The inexpensive price tag makes the product even more attractive.

The cover is too thin.

OUR VERDICT

The Samply Classic Hot Water Bottle will treat sore muscles, minimise stress, reduce migraines, decrease arthritis progression, relieve tension, practically remove menstrual cramps, and make stiff body parts like the neck and back loosen up.

Cryopaq 2L

Pulling Triple-Duty as an Ice Pack and Cosy Cushion Too

The Cryopaq Large Luxury Hot Water Bottle is large and luxurious as the name implies, at least so far. The furry cover, made from faux fur, is quite luxurious too, feeling soft against the skin and providing this cosy barrier from the heat. Not only that, the plush cover also makes sure the heat stays inside, letting you experience its soothing comfort almost without any time constraints. Wrapped in this cover, the bottle can be used as a cosy cushion, relieving and comforting you through sore muscles, period pains, and menstrual cramps.

Construction-wise, the cover is double-stitched, so despite its gentle appearance, you do not have to be especially gentle with it. The screw stopper, on the other hand, could have been designed more robust. On the upside, the screw cap comes equipped with an opening that lets you tie the cap to the bottle so that you will not lose it. As the fluffy cover has been made from faux fur, this product was manufactured without harming a single animal.

Considering that you can also choose between six different colours, the Cryopaq Large Luxury Hot Water Bottle makes an excellent gift set that men and women can appreciate alike. Alternatively, the bottle can always be used as an ice pack.

Beamfeature Soft Fleece Cover

A Slight Charming Gamble

The Beamfeature Soft Fleece Cover Hot Water Bottle has been described as an ideal Christmas gift but we're not even approaching the holiday season yet, so what can you do with the bottle today? Well, for starters, not unlike most hot water bottles, you can use this one to keep specific body parts warm, relieving soreness and facilitating muscle recovery.

Still, there are some differences between these bottles and the one we're reviewing here, with the primary difference being the cover that's made from soft fleece. Offering the softest, most pleasant tactile impression, this cover feels wonderful against the skin. To add more, it is machine washable (we would recommend sticking with cold water cycles and minimal tumble drying) and the fabric dries out pretty quickly.

Pivoting towards the bottle, made from high-strength rubber, it is also quite durable, as well as puncture-resistant. Now, the issue here is that you cannot choose the design and the fine folk at Beamfeature will choose one randomly for you, meaning that, to some extent, you're gambling here. As long as you don't mind this part, the Beamfeature Soft Fleece Cover Hot Water Bottle will probably prove to be your cup of tea. Plus, most of the designs look quite charming anyway.

Cassandra Ribbed Surface 1.8 Litre

Switching Between Two Sides

The Cassandra Ribbed Surface Hot Water Bottle has a ribbed surface (surprise-surprise) on one side, increasing its heating effect. The second side does not have a ribbed surface, meaning that it is less effective but also more forgiving towards the skin. As you can imagine, you can rotate between these two sides to increase/decrease the heating effect when necessary. This part is important to emphasise since the bottle comes without a cover, so, unless you purchase one separately, you will not be able to wrap the bottle in one. What you will be able to do though is go to sleep with this bottle resting on you since, complying with the British Standard BS1970/2012, there's practically no chance that the bottle will burst.

Moving on, you can select between blue, red, and pink, not the widest selection but who cares what these bottles look like anyway? What some people might care about is that there's a noticeable rubbery smell to these bottles and that smell can take a while to go away. Setting this little mishap aside, the Cassandra Ribbed Surface Hot Water Bottle is an effective and affordable option that will ease aches and pains and will accommodate customers with safety concerns first and foremost.

Samply Classic

Anti-Explosion Construction

The Samply Classic Hot Water Bottle comes supplied with the cosiest knitted cover that you will want to hug and snuggle with. Despite its cosy appearance though, the bottle wrapped in this cover will be able to treat sore muscles, minimise stress, reduce migraines, decrease arthritis progression, relieve tension, all but remove menstrual cramps, and make stiff necks and backs less stiff. As a bonus, the bottle can double as a cold compress, helping sick boys and girls fight the common cold and similar illnesses.

Now, some might find the knitted cover a little thin but, generally speaking, it will work alright, preventing the hot bottle from coming in direct contact with the skin. To add more, made from thickened PVC, this anti-explosion bottle can withstand pressure levels above 1,000 pounds.

Last but not least, unlike most hot water bottles, this one comes equipped with a wide mouth, enabling easy pouring and with the transparent body, eliminating guesswork so that you know when to stop.

All things considered, the Samply Classic Hot Water Bottle will prove equally useful at home and on the road, keeping the feet always warm and doubling as a remedy for aches, pains, and various sports injuries.

Medipaq 3 Pack

Mini Hot Water Bottles

The Medipaq 3-Pack Mini Hot Water Bottle offers 3 bottles at 12 quid, meaning that one bottle will cost you 4 quid. Needless to say, this is quite an attractive offer, even though, capacity-wise, these bottles measure just 1 litre, not 2. On the bright side, they're all made from high-strength rubber, making them pretty resistant against punctures and bursting. Compliant with British Standard BS1970/2012, these bottles can be trusted.

Furthermore, the bottles are ribbed, making them better at defusing heat. Still, for some reason, they don't keep the water hot as long as more expensive models, which is the product's biggest downside.

In other respects, these bottles do not disappoint, especially with the large easy-fill openings preventing spills and leakproof caps making sure that even the tiniest drops do not escape the bottle. Besides everything above, there's not much to add here. The bottles come adopting charming heart shapes embossed around them, something that most people should find quite adorable.

There's nothing adorable about the instructions on the neck though but we would recommend following them anyway. As long as you do that, the Medipaq 3-Pack Mini Hot Water Bottle is a great inexpensive gift that the entire family will appreciate.

Review of Medipaq 3 Pack Mini Hot Water Bottle

What is a Hot Water Bottle?

Hot water bottles are nothing new. People have been using them since the 16th century. A bottle like that, filled with hot (but not boiling) water, relieves sore muscles, reduces stress, minimises arthritis progression, treats migraines, decreases tension, makes menstrual cramps more bearable and stiff body parts less stiff. They can even relieve period pains, at least to some extent. Some people use them as bed warmers, some as cosy cushions, some even as compresses. Provided that the cap is tight, they can also double as ice packs.

More often than not, these bottles are made from rubber, though PVC is sometimes used too. As long as the material is decent at resisting punctures and does not burst under mild pressure, the difference between the two is negligible. What is a little less negligible is the neck. As you can imagine, the wide neck makes filling the bottle less challenging. Apart from that, we don't mind when these bottles are adopting transparent bodies since that eliminates guesswork and lets you easily pour the right amount.

When the sleeping bag and the pop-up tent are not cutting it, these bottles work wonders on the road, keeping you warm even when the temperature does not quite support it.
