Bosch PFS 3000-2 All-Paint
Practical and Simple
Robert Bosch GmbH is a famous German company, the world's leader in automotive and electronics industry. And the Bosch PFS 3000-2 All-Pain Spray System is one more masterpiece of this global giant. Owing to All-Paint technology, the sprayer can work with literally all types of paints. Really, its powerful 650-watt compressor can smoothly apply even the thickest paints.
Besides, the sprayer boasts 2-mode power regulator. The first mode is suitable for spraying solvent-based paints. The second one is best for spraying thicker paints - water-based paints and acrylic paints. For extra convenience, the gun has 3 nozzle patterns (horizontal oval, vertical oval, circle) to paint the remote surfaces.
On the back, you can find an airflow control with five levels - the higher level you set the more amount of paint will be supplied to a nozzle. Note that this model comes with 2 nozzles, grey and white. Grey one is best for lacquers and glazes whilst the white is excellent for acrylic and water-based paints.
Accordingly, for the white nozzle, you should use 3-5 airflow levels and 1-3 for grey. Also, we would like to emphasise that it uses SDS technology which helps quickly clean the gun from paint, making its maintenance a snap. All you have to do is unscrew the tank, remove the nozzle and connect the hose to the water.
As for your comfort, this spray system comes with a shoulder strap and a filter to remove the lumps that may clog the nozzle.
Robert August Bosch! This legendary man was born on 23 September 1861, in Ahlbeck, Germany. In his youth, he studied mechanical engineering, increasing his knowledge in a number of leading electrical companies including even the Siemens Brothers company in England. Having returned to Germany in 1886, Bosch established his own company that produced various electrical equipment. In its early years, the company had hard times since much money had been spent on new equipment.
Success came only at the end of the 1890s when scientists invented an electrical generator, a magneto, and then a spark plug for combustion engines. Those breakthroughs started a new age of automotive production. Besides an electrical generator, the company also invented other devices like headlamps, windshield wipers, and oil pumps.
Since the late 1920s, Bosch has started producing household appliances (refrigerators were especially popular). And since the 1930s it has already been engaged in producing power tools. After Robert Bosch's death, engineers didn't stop any of his undertakings and continued to develop technologies. Today, the Bosch Group comprises three main divisions - automotive technology, industrial technology as well as consumer goods and building technology.
Wagner is one of the leading manufacturers of painting equipment. And now we propose you to have a closer look at their paint spray system W-550. Its functionality is just perfect for painting fences, doors, walls, or furniture. This sprayer can use acrylic and oil paints, antiseptic and protective compounds, different varnishes. Moreover, you can use this device with wood and metal paints, including but not limited to gloss, satin, different stains, undercoats, and many more.
Also, it doesn't even matter which material you are going to use - the paint layer will be thin and smooth. The device provides extra-fine atomisation that enables uniform coverage in a single coat, so you won't be wasting too much time on different pursuits.
It's also possible to spray both in horizontal and vertical positions. What is notable, the sprayer is fitted with a flow regulator for different surfaces. You can use this regulator to make the spray more or less powerful to make sure that you don't mess the project's aesthetic.
The nice thing is that its turbine works silently and you even don't have to wear ear protection while spraying. The Click-and-Paint system allows you to change the paint materials just in one motion. At the same time, note that, with the Wagner W-550, you will save up to 50% time compared to brushes or rollers.
Maintenance-wise, the removable gun enables quick spray attachment changes and easy cleaning.
In a nutshell, this sprayer combines an affordable price, high quality, convenience, and portability.
Paint Sprayer for Pastry? Why not?!
In addition to its main purpose, a paint sprayer can also be used in a very unusual way. Some enthusiastic pastry cookers came up with a decision of creating the "velvet chocolate effect" on cakes, pastries, and other confectioneries. Such a coating gives a very beautiful matted effect allowing you to surprise your guests. And due to the fact that the Wagner W-550 has all the certificates confirming the total safety of its materials, the sprayer can create such a pastry masterpiece.
Why do cooks choose a paint sprayer to create such an effect? A paint sprayer is an affordable tool which is compatible with a great variety of colours. In order to make a "velvet effect", you have to mix the right proportion of cocoa butter and chocolate, typically this proportion is 50/50. Then you can optionally add dye liquid, stir all ingredients and apply the mixture on your pastry.
Tackles any Paint Job
Well-balanced and complete would be the words we'd use to describe the TACKLIFE SGP15AC paint sprayer. With it, you'll be able to forget about a brush.
Different jobs require different speeds. You can't paint your car the same way you'd paint a wooden product or a piece of steel furniture. You can't douse kids furniture or playsets with paint. With some of these tasks, all you need is a slight, gentle touch, a little spray here and there.
Of course, with lawn furniture, deck railings, grills, and other similar items, there's no need for the same level of finesse. What we're getting at here is the versatility that is often required to tackle different projects, the versatility that, incidentally, is one of the biggest selling points of this paint sprayer.
First things first, the model incorporates a variable flow trigger. With this button, you will be able to control the paint flow by selecting the coating speed. On top of that trigger, the sprayer comes with 3 different nozzles: 2.0 mm, 2.5 mm, and 3.0 mm. Thanks to this selection of nozzles, you'll have the creative freedom and the ability to take on all kinds of DIY projects.
But that isn't where the model's versatility ends. Though the removable nozzles are all well and good, they wouldn't be worth half their value if this paint sprayer didn't feature an adjustable nozzle with 3 spray patterns: horizontal, vertical, and round. All you have to do is rotate the nozzle and you'll be able to choose the pattern that's most suitable for your needs.
And if that's not enough, you can also adjust the spray width. With this model, controlling the spray distribution is as easy as sliding the switch left or right.
As Fast as it is Powerful
There's a lot to the model's design and though we have covered most of it already, some would argue that we haven't even got to the best part yet. Some would say that the best part of this tool is not the sprayer itself but its container. More specifically, a particularly large container with a nice little removable top cap. This seemingly small but unique design choice will let you add the paint in a much more practical and convenient manner.
Other than that, there isn't much left to talk about here. We could mention the fact that the sprayer can be disassembled into 3 different pieces, making it a lot easier to maintain it. We could also point out the ~30-centimetre distance of the spray gun, a number that not many of its counterparts are capable of reproducing. Finally, we could highlight the ridiculously high spraying speed of 800 millilitres per minute.
But we don't reckon there's much of a need for it. What we've already said should be enough to paint a pretty clear picture, which is that the TACKLIFE SGP15AC spray painter is as versatile and well-balanced of a model as it gets. There isn't a task it won't let you handle and a project that it won't help you tackle.
Perfect Flow of Paint
The Meterk Electric Spray Gun looks tough but looks can be deceiving. This is not necessarily the case here but we'll get there. To get the ball rolling, we'll start with the product's flaws because they're few and far between. First, we're not crazy about cord length here, something that you can fix with an extension cable but the point still stands. Seconds, the instructions are basically pointless since they do not provide any details regarding the extra bits shipped with this device.
Apart from these two shortcomings, the product is solid. Measuring puny 21 x 13 x 13 centimetres and weighing around 1.5 kilogrammes, this thing is easy to bring with you, easy to carry, and easy to use.
You'll be spraying different car parts, furniture items, wooden articles, home appliances' parts, and more. The device can spray basecoats and most high-viscosity coatings used in the automotive industry.
Even complete beginners will be able to figure out and navigate the integrated regulator ensuring that perfect paint flow necessary to apply free-flowing paints and stains. Comfort aside, the optimised flow rate also means that the operating costs are reduced since you're not wasting paint.
Match the Coating Speed with the Project's Needs
Above, we've somewhat touched upon the device's versatile disposition. Contributing towards that cause will also be the three available spray patterns enabling vertical, horizontal, and round spraying and three nozzles (1.3, 1.8, and 2.6 millimetres) to accommodate different work needs. Though the device will be regulating the paint flow without any assistance, you can also use the adjustable knob valve to change that flow rate, matching the coating speed with the project size to enable not only precise but also efficient paint application. To add more, the model sprays the coatings evenly without producing any brush marks, all whilst letting you adjust the distance too.
From the maintenance angle, every single part here is detachable, so you can clean the entire device without much hassle. The viscosity cup will allow you to measure the paint's viscosity to make sure that cleaning and washing the nozzle comes without its challenges. Also, you'll be able to open the container cover and add the paint without removing the 800-millilitre container, easily adding paint and controlling its smoothness.
To give you the gist, the Meterk Electric Spray Gun will fit most projects, complete most tasks, accommodate most painting and coating needs, and suit most applications based around paint.
Black & Decker HVLP Hand Held
Saves Your Time
The Black & Decker HVLP200 is a compact paint sprayer that is widely used for a variety of paint jobs around the house. As the name suggests, this is an HVLP technology-based tool that enables even spraying of paint on big surfaces consuming 30% less of the paint.
The sprayer has a monoblock construction that boasts 1.5 kg in weight and 400 watts in power. Also, the manufacturer has provided this sprayer with a 1.2-litre canister and a lid on the side for more convenient intake of the paint. The curved tube inside the canister allows for holding the sprayer in both ways, vertically and horizontally, depending on the project and surfaces to cover.
The paint flow indicator sells this product as much as everything above though. Displaying the current flow setting, this little mechanism enables simple yet repeatable performance. You can easily and precisely adjust the spray pattern depending on the project's needs.
As far as we're concerned, the only issue with this product is that the lid on the tank might not always seal tightly, so make sure to double-check before using the sprayer.
Paint for Interior Finish
Now we would like to shed some light on paints for interior finish and what to look for when choosing them. Today the market offers a huge variety of interior paints: matte, semi-gloss, and gloss. When choosing between paints, besides colours and aesthetics properties, you need to consider the practical side as well. For example, it's not necessarily to buy an expensive paint with 5,000 washings cycle life to cover walls in a nursery or a living-room. The more important thing to look at would be is whether this paint is hypo-allergenic or not. And vice versa, when planning to cover outdoor surfaces, the least you should worry about is hypo-allergenic properties of the paint.
The variety of paints for interior finish is truly vast. Here you'll find some descriptions on the most common:
- Water-based paints are used all around the world. They are environmentally friendly since their main component is water, they dry out quickly and have no odours.
- Acrylic paints boast a wide range of colours, they withstand wet cleaning and create an excellent matte effect.
- Alkyd enamels in addition to their aesthetic effect, also protect walls against external influences (special protective film appears after drying).
- Latex paints are extremely durable and are great for walls, ceilings, and other concrete surfaces. They are odourless and not harmful to our health.
What Is a Paint Sprayer?
A paint sprayer is a portable device for painting various surfaces. The main advantage of paint sprayers is that they can quickly cover walls and other surfaces with paint, levelling them and making the paintwork perfectly smooth. That's something you'd never be able to achieve using standard brushes or rollers.
At the same time, these sprayers are much more versatile than that. Sure, you can use paint. You can also use different finishers, primers, deck and fence stains, enamels, oils, wood preservatives, sealers, varnishes, etching solutions, the list goes on and on (depending on the model).
More often than not, different models come equipped with 2-3 spray patterns, letting you cover different surfaces more efficiently. Of course, the difference between these models also stems from the maximum flow rate that will dictate how quickly you'll be able to paint and the motor that will determine its overall performance.
If your repair project isn't only about painting, you might want to consider these cordless drills. Battery-powered and pretty lightweight, these drills can be used pretty much everywhere.
What Features to Compare
Types of paint sprayers
To choose a paint sprayer that will be right for you, you firstly need to decide what you're planning to do with it. In general, there are three types of paint sprayers to choose from - air, pneumatic, and airless. Let's take a close look at the specs of each of them and see how they differ.
- Airless paint sprayers are mainly used outdoors for covering large areas with paint. They force the paint through the pump at high pressure and high spraying speed. The drawback of using airless paint sprayers is that it’s easy to overspray and apply much more paint than it’s been planned.
- Air paint sprayers produce a thinner layer of paint and so, they are more preferable for painting smaller surfaces, where accuracy and precision are required.
- Pneumatic spray guns are much more solid painting devices which boast high performance and mind-blowing speed. They are notable for producing even and well-textured coverage and are most often used by those who need to paint rather large areas.
Principle of operation
Having chosen the air or pneumatic sprayer, you should pay attention to its principle of operation. HP (High Pressure) technology ensures that you can paint fast. Yet, the applied paint would cover only about 45% of the surface and further spraying would be still needed. HVLP (High Volume / Low Pressure) technology is well supported in many appliances. The technique implies that the air inside a sprayer moves under high pressure but at output it gets rarified. That adds to efficiency and spraying over 65% surface at a time.
Speaking about pressure, most models are limited to 8 bars. In case the pressure goes over this limit, compressors automatically shut down. Only having reached 6-bar mark, they would resume work and pump up all missing volume of the air. The most powerful models boast 10-bar pressure.
Types of nozzles and compatible surfaces
If you are going to use the sprayer on different materials, please, pay close attention to the types of nozzles and compatible surfaces. If you use metallic paint, the paint sprayer gun with a nozzle of 1.2-1.3 mm will be the most suitable option. The best choice for varnish and acrylic paints is a sprayer gun with a 1.4-1.5 mm nozzle. And finally, the paint sprayer gun with the biggest size (1.7-2.0 mm nozzle) will be perfect for the putty. As a rule, most pneumatic and air spray guns are compatible with all materials! But if you choose to buy an airless sprayer, you should definitely consider the surfaces it's going to be most efficient for.
After you decide on basic characteristics, you need to consider the tank position and figure out what kinds of jobs it will suit best. The tank located at the top enables good weight distribution and great spraying speed for heavy-duty jobs whereas paint sprayers with tanks located lower work best for small painting jobs. You also need to consider the set of additional nozzles since they can facilitate a lot of work and provide limitless painting options.
