Best Faraday Bags in the UK

Review & Comparison, Last Update April 23, 2019
A faraday bag is, more often than not, a simple pouch with a relatively complicated premise. Borrowing a page from the Faraday cage book, a bag like that prevents the electronics inside from receiving or transmitting potentially disruptive and harmful radio frequency signals. With it, you'll be able to protect these electronics and the things they stand for from thieves. ...Read more ...Read less

The white model doesn't look exactly as advertised.

OUR VERDICT

MONOJOY GK10195364 is by far the most cost-effective option in this review. We would recommend it to couples with separate vehicles first and foremost. Though it definitely wouldn't hurt anyone who likes to carry with him a bunch of items with Wi-Fi, 4G, Bluetooth, RFID, or NFC modules.

OUR VERDICT

Arclit ZEM will prove an excellent choice for people looking to protect their valuable compact electronics. It will also suit those who like to compartmentalise and keep everything separately in its place. Though seemingly standard, the Faraday bags are made of a strong woven material.

Humble Bumble Pure Leather Pouch

A Touch of Elegance

While the company decided to go with Humble Bumble as their name of choice, the product in question is anything but humble. Made of high-quality pure leather, it looks more like a chic accessory than a practical solution to a digital security problem.

Of course, the elegant leather wasn't chosen just because of its appearance advantages but also because of its strength and durability. It should last you a long time, especially considering the attention to details that's been put into it, including white stitching, a dual weave nano signal blocking material inside that pouch, as well as things like an extra pocket for credit cards, a hook on top of the bag, etc. Instead of the usual Velcro straps, this product features a magnetic button. Unlike Velcro, it does not lose its grip over time, making the bag a much more sensible long-term purchase.

Though advertised as a car key signal blocker, the model's design and size make a good fit for most smartphones (that being said, we would recommend comparing the sizes first), so it is as much of a regular Faraday bag as it is a key signal blocker.

To sum it up, this Humble Bumble Faraday bag leaves very little to be desired. Unlike other products in this review, it will allow you to protect and secure your smartphone as well as your car keys and bank cards. No one will be able to steal your car and access your data.

WeShield WS-1

Hold It the Way You Like

WeShield WS-1 is an effective accessory first and foremost. With its 12.5 x 8.5 centimetres in overall dimensions, the product will prove too small and too tight for your average smartphone. But it was not designed for smartphones to begin with, so we'll hardly hold it against the bag. No, the product was designed to prevent thieves from amplifying the signal of your smart key and accessing your car and it does an excellent job of that. Incorporating 4 layers of Faraday fabric, this thing is practically impenetrable.

While the inner layer (on, in this case, 4 inner layers) always takes priority in Faraday bags, the outer layer is important as well. For example, the model's Oxford waterproof outer material will keep the car keys protected against splashes, dust, and just about any other physical outside interference in the book.

Though the pouch fits most car keys, what we like about it isn't necessarily universal application but the way one can customize it to fit their needs or preferences. On top of the usual hook, the bag comes with two key rings, a reusable holding strap, and a carabiner.

With these many accessories, you'll have different but equally functional ways of holding and/or attaching the pouch to your outfit, handbag, or backpack. The carabiner is an especially effective tool as (provided you hook it up to your trousers, your belt, or the bag) it makes it really difficult for thieves to quickly snatch the pouch.

In short, WeShield WS-1 is an effective Faraday bag that will fit the absolute majority of customers looking to protect their car from thieves.

MONOJOY GK10195364

Two for Less Than a Price of One

With MONOJOY GK10195364, it all starts at the size. Featuring 14 x 10 centimetres in overall dimensions, the bag is neither too large to be an inconvenience nor is it too small for anything other than the car keys. Size like that will likely allow you to fit your smartphone in the pouch. You'll definitely find enough space there for a smartwatch, a few bank cards, and a variety of similar items.

By the way, what we have here is easily the most value prospect on our list. For 8 pounds, more or less the usual price of your Faraday bag, the company behind this listing offers 2 bags. That makes the price of one laughable, to say the least.

And it isn't like these are bad pouches either. On the contrary, the 210D nylon exterior is durable and easy to clean. The Faraday fabric is as effective as the next option. For the most part, the only difference between these bags and their more expensive counterparts is a slight chemical smell. But it goes away fairly quickly, so we would hardly call it a major downside.

Plus, in addition to the signal blocking pocket, both bags include an extra storage pocket, so you'll be able to stuff quite a lot of items there.

All in all, MONOJOY GK10195364 is by far the most cost-effective option in this review. We would recommend it to couples with separate vehicles first and foremost. Though it definitely wouldn't hurt anyone who likes to carry with him a bunch of items with Wi-Fi, 4G, Bluetooth, RFID, or NFC modules.

Arclit ZEM

Two Cases Plus two Card Signal Blockers

Though we may have crowned the previous entry on our list as the most cost-effective option here, that's only because Arclit ZEM is a little more difficult to define and measure. But nobody in good conscience would be able to make a claim that this isn't a good deal either. For 10 quid, the company sends you two car key signal blocker cases as well as two card signal blockers. Now, if that isn't a good deal, we don't know what is.

The cases come equipped with a key ring and an internal loop. Though the latter is far from reliable, the key ring will keep the keys in place and will prevent them from getting snatched by a thief.

On top of that, each case includes an extra storage compartment to go with the main signal-blocking pocket. You can easily tell the two apart as the latter is fitted with golden inner lining. While the signal-blocking compartment is keeping the keyfobs and compact electronics protected from criminals, the extra pocket can be used any other extra items that you'll be able to fit in there.

The card signal blockers, as you'd imagine, aren't just great for bank cards but also for an ID, driver's license, and any other valuable piece of plastic.

Bottom line, Arclit ZEM will prove an excellent choice for people looking to protect their valuable compact electronics. It will also suit those who like to compartmentalise and keep everything separately in its place. Though seemingly standard, the Faraday bags are made of a strong woven material.

Cloakmate Car Key

A Good Deal

Cloakmate will prove a good mate to your car keys. In fact, the product will prove a good mate to more than a single pair of keys because you get 2 pouches for the price of one. That's not a bad deal and the only reason this is the last entry on our list is because the MONOJOY listing offers the same deal but their pouches include an extra storage compartment. Not a huge deal but it would've been nice if these Faraday bags from Cloakmate featured the same number of pockets. Instead, each pouch features 1 pocket. Other than that, we don't really have any complaints.

The Faraday fabric, with its anti-theft dual layer nano technology, works as intended. The visually imperceptible shield that it creates blocks all electromagnetic frequencies, including but not limited to NFC, RFID, 4G, LTE, Wi-Fi, keyfobs, the remote start signal, etc. The model is compatible with the absolute majority of keyfobs out there.

Though not necessarily designed with that purpose in mind (not primarily anyway), you'll likely be able to fit your smartphone in it as well. The simple design that doesn't feature any rings or internal loops gives you more space for larger electronics.

And that's about all there is to it. Simple, effective, and practical, Cloakmate gives you 2 great Faraday bags for a very affordable price. Its signal-blocking abilities make it virtually impossible for thieves to exploit the signal. With it, your vehicle will remain protected.

Review of Cloakmate Car Key Signal Blocking Pouch

What Is a Faraday Bag?

Utilising the Faraday cage principle, a Faraday bag is any bag that's able to block electromagnetic signals. Generally speaking, a bag like that will give you a couple of compartments so that you're able to place different items inside it. In this review, we focus mostly on bags for car keys and debits cards, though there are bags out there that are capable of fitting multiple smartphones.

People use bags like that to protect data and prevent unwanted transmissions (be it from a laptop, cell phone, or anything in-between) in secure locations like government buildings, military installations, and similar places. This way, nobody will be able to track the location of your smartphone. You'll be able to safeguard data and protect the device inside a bag like that from outside influences.

A Faraday bag does not cost a whole lot but the peace of mind it offers in return can be priceless. In this digital day and age of ours, it is hard to overestimate the value of an item like that.

Needless to say, your car deserves and requires protection just as much as your car keys. With a car cover or a carport, you'll be able to extend its service life and keep your vehicle of choice in an optimal condition.
