What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Olympus TG-6 Waterproof Camera
  • I needed a pocket-sized camera that could handle sand, water, and everyday situations. I have 2 small kids and those are the environments I'm in.
  • Macro is exceptional and underwater photos are very strong - easily the best among other compact UW cameras.
  • Light weight and easy to use this camera is ideal for family trips. It works very well underwater and takes impressive video as well.
  • I purchased this for a trip thinking it would be perfect because of the compact size and the zoom and i do really happy.
  • It's compact and handy - you should always carry it with you and you won't miss a shot, take quick shots faster than your cell phone.
Olympus TG-5 Waterproof Camera
  • Weight was a little heavy but worth it. Case was a little slippery so I custom cut rubber grip tape and now the camera looks even more expensive
  • It is compact. I have to do a lot of one handed shooting and the quick to grab and eade of sticking it in a pocket aspect of this camera is super
  • A bit heavier than I'd like for backpacking and trough hiking, but it's better than a DSLR. The one star out is for weight, but it's a minor complaint

What customers say about "Imaging"
Olympus TG-6 Waterproof Camera
  • Takes good high quality images for a 12 MP compact. Pictures are bright and performance in lowlight is very good.
  • Image quality like my iPhone, but it’s waterproof, tough as nails, & has a killer macro mode!
  • I would say the image quality is about the same as my iPhone, but it does have an outstanding macro setting for closeups of insects and such.
  • The quality of the macro photography image with Olympus TG-6 is exceptional.
  • Yes, it’s waterproof. However, image quality leaves something to be desired.
Olympus TG-5 Waterproof Camera
  • The image sensor and photo quality are darn good. Sunsets turn out vivid and as long as you use a tripod, low light pictures turn out good too.
  • Microscope mode is simply amazing. You can focus as close as 1cm and zoom 4X optically.
  • The built in focus stacking will process several images to maximize sharpness.
  • With the LG-1 light guide you get perfect lighting up close.
  • You can choose digital zoom to magnify zoom by factors of 1X, 2X or 4X. (obviously image quality degrades at these high settings)
  • If you let the camera select the ISO and it creeps up to take a picture in lower light, the image immediately becomes garbage.
  • While in microscope mode, there is no provision for user tweaks to aperture or program shift. Although focus stacking is great to have, you cannot select the size of the stack.

What customers say about "Display"
Olympus TG-6 Waterproof Camera
  • The screen is much improved which in some ways is minor, but it really does help with exposure compensation and seeing if your shot turned out.
  • Excellent display, which is clearly visible under water, I highly recommend!
  • Good screen size and resolution, I really liked it! Very comfortable to dive with it.
  • Build quality is good, great screen, great photos, beautiful design and lightweight.
  • I am pleased with the purchase, everything is good in this camera: screen, photo quality, compactness, protection!
Olympus TG-5 Waterproof Camera
  • Unlike most new cameras, it does not have a touch screen which is the most common criticism I've seen of it, but those critics don't seem to be aware that touch screens don't work very well - if at all - under water. All of the controls on the TG-5 are physical and work above and below the surface
  • The screen goes off rather quickly compared with the 4 or 5 other waterproof cameras I've owned. The TG-5 comes to life with a tap on the shutter trigger And your settings are right where you left it. The screen going dark saves the battery so I get 2 to 3 snorkels on a charge
  • The rather generously sized three inch monitor screen has a menu with forty-one display items though fortunately not all visible at the same time.
  • The camera is robust but the front lens cover and back monitor screen could get scratched, it all depends how careful you are with your expensive equipment.
  • Way too much information on the screen resulting in everything being very small.

What customers say about "Protection"
Olympus TG-6 Waterproof Camera
  • I like it so much it because the color in RED and water proof that can dive till 50ft deep.
  • I love the point and shoot waterproof camera’s to bring to the beach for sand and water photos of family. Places I would never bring the iPhone or DSLR.
  • As described. Will do business again! Really sturdy & waterproof. Use every weekend on kayaking trips.
  • This camera is waterproof to 50 feet and shock-proof from a height 7 feet. I have tested it under water, taking pictures in tide pools and filming in a rushing river.
  • It's waterproof - it really can be wetted or submerged, take pictures underwater, works in the rain, works if you drop your coffee on it, it works!
Olympus TG-5 Waterproof Camera
  • It stayed waterproof to a depth of 10'. I did not go any deeper.
  • Waterproof, sensible double locks on compartments, reasonable lens, reasonable picture, and RAW format.
  • This waterproof camera is absolutely fantastic it takes great photos can shoot at 20 frames per second and shoots 4k video works great.
  • Waterproof; shockproof; freezeproof and on and on
  • The TG-5 is waterproof to 50 feet - way deeper than I'm likely to go, so that's perfect. It's also shock resistant, and crush resistant - though I'm hoping not to test those out :)

What customers say about "Connectivity"
Olympus TG-6 Waterproof Camera
  • The camera is equipped with wifi, gps, it's very cool, it's just really cool camera.
  • The connection with wi-fi is excellent, there are no disconnects, gps works well, I am very pleased with the purchase.
  • GPS finds a location quickly enough, wi-fi is stable, excellent proof indicators.
  • GPS works great, very compact camera, which is fun to swim and take wonderful pictures.
  • Awful wi-fi connection, every minute disconnect, just outrageous, very dissapointed.
Olympus TG-5 Waterproof Camera
  • The camera does a very nice WiFi interface with my Samsung tablet which can control the camera as well import photos from it
  • Camera makes it's own wifi (can use phone to control shutter, etc)
  • The two openings, one for the battery/card and one for the HDMI/USB cables each have two mini slide locks and they are closed when an orange color isn't visible under the four slide bars.
  • The biggest disappointment is WiFi. The primitive WiFi only works with cell phones. You cannot use WiFi over a network/PC.
  • The only weird thing is that the GPS display data is displaying the barometer in Pascals and the temp in centigrade...can't find the setting to change it. Probably going to hav to wait for software update.

What customers say about "Power"
Olympus TG-6 Waterproof Camera
  • Battery life is excellent, and the GPS works well, even if a little slow to hook up at first.
  • The battery life is excellent on it. I haven't had any issues with the wifi but I honestly have hardly used either.
  • Easy to operate, quick to respond, long battery life, even had sound from under the water!
  • The battery door and tripod mount are located next to each other...so if you need to switch batteries, you'll also need to remove your quick release mount which is a bit annoying.
  • It would be better if it came with an extra battery and external charger, as well as a case.
Olympus TG-5 Waterproof Camera
  • Love not replacing batteries, just plug in at end of day.
  • Battery life very good. I could shoot most of the day and the battery was still half charged.
  • Battery life has been quite good.
  • The battery life is way to short...buy xtra The camera WILL die on you just when that once in a lifetime shot is desired...just expect it.. it WILL happen.
