Gaming Headsets Sades Headsets

Does not get Better Under £30

SADES SA903 is the definitive model for gamers looking for excellent game sound, crystal-clear communication, and enhanced comfort, all at an unmatched value. Considering the economical price that Sades headsets always come with, there isn't much to complain about here. As far as we're concerned, the only weak link here is the size.

Compared to every other model on the list, this headset is relatively massive. It will likely take you some time to get used to it.

Other than that though, we've no real complaints. The audio quality beats just about anything in this budget price range. The model is practical, comfortable, and very much functional.

We really like the upgraded headband. Incorporating 4 padded pieces, the multi-point supporting headband will be able to keep you comfortable for hours on end. The high-quality sponge liner is durable and feels nice too. As it is usually the case, the headband is very much adjustable. The hidden scalable orbit can be used to make the model perfectly suitable for different head circumferences.

The massive high-grade PU leather earmuffs are nothing to complain about too. These things are as comfortable as they come and will likely be able to keep you cool even during summer.

Balance Between Bass and Treble

The audio quality that the model is able to deliver at this very much affordable cost is absurdly good. The massive 40mm drivers come equipped with neodymium magnets and high-quality membranes. They're able to perfectly balance bass and treble.

At the same time, the 3D 7.1 Virtual Clamping Speaker technology makes the audio output more stable, clear, accurate, and immersive, allowing you to experience that virtual surround sound effect to its full potential.

The microphone is surprisingly good too. It is foldable and easy to rotate. You can position it any way you like. The mic is omni-directional but, at the same time, works wonders reducing the always distracting background noise and picking up the right sounds. It is pretty powerful too. You can place the microphone relatively far from the mouth and it will be able to pick up any whisper necessary.

Setting all that aside, there isn't much that separates this model from your average Sades headset. The on-board control is practical but nothing that we haven't necessarily seen before. We like the black aesthetic with red accents but, again, it doesn't really make the model look much cooler than your average headset.

In short, SADES SA903 is the best Sades headset on the list. It is a little more comfortable than every other model here and a little more practical too. The superior surround sound technology will be able to deliver a solid competitive advantage over your opponents.

The Looks and the Comfort

SADES SA902 is rocking that classic gaming aesthetic that effortlessly combines black motives with red accents to create that daring, imposing look that so many gamers prefer over anything that is supposedly more creative and/or interesting. As far as we're concerned, the model isn't necessarily about aesthetics but it does not disappoint in that department, to say the least. Aside from the overall effective profile, the model incorporates these nice little LED spotlights right behind the earmuffs to make the headset look even more imposing.

Other than that, it is all about the product's build, tech, functionality, and utility. Starting with the build, the model incorporates thick plastic through and through. It makes sense considering the price tag and, as per usual, plastic works wonders making the headset lightweight and comfortable. For our taste, the only issue with the plastic housing is that it is somewhat susceptible to scratches, so we would recommend being careful with it.

The earpads will likely be able to completely cover your ears, further delivering on the comfort front and making the model pretty great at minimising outside noise too. The headband is particularly easy to adjust and the ample padding will make you forget you're wearing the headset in the first place.

Punching Above its Weight

The cable was a nice surprise. Replacing the usual plastic USB cable, the model comes packing a thick, red, braided cable that will be able to resist many environmental hazards. You can run over the cable with any regular office chair and the headset will keep on working as usual.

As it is always the case with Sades headsets, the controls have been assigned to the inline module that's attached to the cable. You can use it to raise or lower the volume, mute the audio, and/or mute the mic. The buttons there are large enough to make it possible to easily find them even in the dark. Plus, they give a surprisingly satisfactory click when pressed.

On the sound quality front, the SA902 stacks up very well against just about any budget headset and many mid-range models. Its 7.1 surround sound capabilities will make many audio-intensive titles feel much more immersive. The default settings are able to deliver a nice punchy sound. At the same time, you'll likely be able to enjoy how bassy everything will sound compared to your average cheap headset.

Bottom line, SADES SA902 is an excellent headset for budget-conscious PC gamers. The separately adjustable surround sound levels will let you customise your gaming experience. Considering the price tag, the model manages to punch much above its weight.

Powerful Microphone

SADES SA810 is the company's most well-balanced, well-rounded, and versatile model to date. Equipped with the regular 3.5mm jack, the headset will be able to work with PC, Xbox, PS4, Nintendo Switch, mobile phones, tablets, and just about any gadget on the market that incorporates the aforementioned port. The 2.2-metre cord is long enough to make the model practical for different devices and/or environments.

Again, as far as we're concerned, the model is probably the most well-rounded Sades headset. But it is not their overall best product. There are plenty of pros and cons here to go around. On the cons side, the model does not incorporate 7.1 surround sound support. The stereo surround sound that the headset does support is able to deliver a high-quality audio experience but, as you would imagine, it is incapable of replicating the immersion levels that the 7.1 system is able to offer.

At the same time, the model's microphone with its minus 52 dB +/- 3 dB runs circles around the company's headsets that come with the 7.1 system. You can whisper into the mic from a solid distance and it will be able to pick your message up and deliver it to your teammates, nice and clear. Nevertheless, it is pretty good at cancelling background noise and differentiating between your voice and outside noises. Plus, the microphone is 120-degree adjustable and omni-directional, making it really comfortable to work and play with too.

Sparkling High but Accurate Bass

As far as the raw audio quality is concerned, the model is more or less as good as its Sades competition. The large high-precision 40mm driver unit is able to produce vivid sound field. The high-performance neodymium magnet system inside the unit delivers sparkling high but, at the same time, accurate bass response.

The 20 ~ 20000 Hz frequency range is good enough. It will not be able to deliver additional transience and rumble. It will not make the music feel more impactful and audibly spacious. However, it will be able to replicate just about every sound with clear-enough accuracy.

The soft air permeable cushions and pliable headband will be able to keep you comfortable throughout long gaming sessions. The PU leather feels nice and the earmuffs with the usual mesh inside wick away sweat, keeping your ears nice and dry.

Again, SADES SA810 is as multi-platform as gaming headsets come. The affordable model delivers across the board and does not disappoint on just about any level. The headset has its flaws but its well-balanced design and performance will be able to keep many different customers comfortable and satisfied.

50mm Driver Units

SADES A60S/OMG deliver on that "OMG" premise as much as any headset in this budget price range. The headphones are able to do so much with so little that there isn't really much to complain about here. The model's 16-Ohm impedance is relatively low. Then again, these are PC headphones, meaning that the aforementioned number doesn't really do or change anything. The white inserts are easily soiled, that's probably the only objective flaw and issue we have with this product. It does not really change our impression though.

The headphones that cost somewhere around 25 quids and come equipped with massive high-fidelity 50mm drivers is already a win in our book. These things are able to deliver sound so loud yet so clear that your average mid-range headphones that come at 2-3 times the price are seldom able to replicate. Operating strong brass and precise acoustic positioning, the model will allow you to feel the full force of an explosion, a grenade blast, or a booster drop.

On top of that, SADES A60S/OMG supports the 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound technology, which is absurd considering the super-budget price. You'll have no issues differentiating between your teammates covering your back and enemies trying to flank you from different positions. The 7.1 tech will help you in competitive games and completely immerse you in the single-player environment.

No Setup Necessary

As far as performance is concerned, we've covered just about everything important here. The only detail we'd like to add is the setup. More specifically, lack thereof. You won't have to tinker with any settings. You won't have to install any drivers. You'll be able to just plug these bad boys in and go to town on your favourite games.

The microphone is nothing to scoff at too. It is highly sensitive and durable. It does not crackle as you adjust it. As per usual, the noise-cancelling tech here is pretty good. You can always hide the retractable microphone too.

The closed earcup design is particularly comfortable. It is able to effectively cover the entire ear and cut out external sounds, meaning you won't be forced to "enjoy" the so-called 'seashell effect' that many headsets suffer from.

Last but not least, the earmuffs feature next-generation PU leather. It is able to offer more skin-intimacy, reduce sweat and heat, and make the headset more suitable for long-time wearing.

All things considered, SADES A60S/OMG looks good and works just as good. All contact points here are finished in soft but durable materials. The memory foam around the earcup keeps you comfortable for long periods. At the same time, the powerful 50mm drivers deliver robust but clear sound.

No Seashell Effect

To call SADES SA807 affordable would be an understatement. Taking into account its specs and overall performance, the model can be purchased for a screaming deal. Sure, it does not necessarily have that neat professional look and feel that its more expensive peers are able to offer. At the same time, the headset is able to punch far above its weight in the performance department.

The 40mm loudhailer speakers deliver more than respectable sound quality that, a the very least, will not detract from your gaming experience. The earcups are sizable enough to keep the sound in, meaning that you will be the only person in the room hearing your gameplay. As you would imagine, this is always a plus for people gaming with other people in the house.

The aforementioned earcups incorporate that closed design that keeps the external sounds mostly shut off so that you do not suffer from the “seashell effect" that many cheap headsets cause. The model has a solid distortion rate and frequency range. You will be able to hear and recognise just about every little sound, from bullets whizzing nearby to muddy footsteps somewhere in the close vicinity. It will give you a nice edge over your opponents with subpar headsets.

All in all, the model's audio will unlikely leave you in awe but it should not disappoint either.

Ergonomically Adaptive Bendable Headband

As it is usually the case with Sades headsets, the model's microphone is not detachable. However, it is very well positioned. With little adjustments, you shouldn't have any issues getting the right balance between hearing your voice without having to listen to breathing or disruptive background noise. Also, on the plus side, having the microphone on your headset at all times will definitely prevent it from getting lost.

The omni-directional condenser microphone features a relatively sensitive frequency response, meaning that it is able to clearly pick up every detail of your voice, improving communication. As it is always the case, the downside is that the mic will occasionally pick up similar frequency background noises. However, you can always adjust the microphone’s position to compensate for different disruptions.

As for the build, the ergonomically adaptive, bendable headband is an awesome feature that we would like to see employed more often in other models too. As far as we're concerned, the design solution offers an excellent way to increase comfort without sacrificing any durability points.

To sum it all up, SADES SA80 headset is as good as it gets at this price. The model is compatible with just about any desktop computer, laptop, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, mobile phone, and any gadget equipped with a 3.5mm port. The headset delivers solid performance with all basic features and some additional perks too.

What Is a Sades Headset?

Sades isn't the biggest name in the gaming peripheral business. It isn't even remotely the biggest name in the headset business. But we can definitely see the company making that transition relatively soon. The difference between these headsets and its competition within the same budget/super-budget price range is how good the company's models look, how well they are able to perform, and how comfortable and practical they are.

Generally speaking, Sades products' audio quality is able to rival its much more expensive mid-range counterparts. They always come equipped with powerful high-fidelity driver units that produce rich sound field and deliver high but, at the same time, accurate bass response. You'll be hard-pressed to find gaming headsets in the same price range that match the company products' aesthetics and additional features.

Last but not least, Sades headsets almost always support 7.1 surround sound, making them able to add immersion layers to your gameplay. Add to that the always reliable and efficient microphones and you can definitely see the company's models dominating the budget headphones' segment for years to come.

To complete your setup, we would recommend a proper gaming mouse and the right gaming keyboard.

What Features to Compare

Sades headsets are not necessarily different from headsets in general, so the things you ought to look for aren't really that different from the things you ought to look for in headphones in general. However, there are still certain separation points.

As far as we're aware, the company does not produce wireless headsets, meaning you will not have to decide between wired and wireless. Other than that, it is all the same specs, components, and features that you should keep in mind to make the right choice.

Connection(s)

Sades headsets always come equipped with the usual 3.5mm jack or USB. As it is always the case, the USB bus or the 3.5mm jack will determine the model's application. You'll be able to use headsets that feature the 3.5mm jack with many different devices and gadgets that incorporate the traditional audio port, including but not limited to Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, different mobile phones, etc.

At the same time, the USB connection will prove a little less versatile but more convenient. You won't be able to work with as many gadgets and devices but the USB protocol has much fewer limitations to it compared to the orthodox audio port.

Driver Unit

The driver(s) is the biggest, most fundamental headset component. The unit converts the electrical signal fed to the headphones into an audible sound signal that can be perceived by the human ear. Sades headsets usually come equipped with driver units that incorporate neodymium magnets. These magnets make it possible to deliver particularly accurate high frequencies. The larger the unit is the louder it is and the better it is able to recreate realistic bass response.

Embouchure Materials

These materials will determine how comfortable and/or practical the headset will prove in the long run. More often than not, the company relies on PU leather and EVA foam. These materials boast an excellent price-quality ratio. They're able to keep you comfortable for hours on end and keep your ears dry through the hottest seasons. Sometimes, the earmuffs will incorporate mesh materials to wick away sweat, making the earcups even more comfortable come summer.

Surround Sound

There isn't much to cover here. Different models come (or do not come) equipped with different surround sound tech. Provided it is present, the technology, to some extent, will be able to deliver a much more immersive gaming experience and provide a solid competitive advantage over your online opponents.

Extras

With Sades headsets, extra features include but aren't limited to on-board controls and LED lights. As you would imagine, the former will keep volume and microphone settings always accessible and the latter will be able to add style points.

Different Headphones and Headsets

Different headphones and headsets do the same thing: they play audio into your ears. So, at the end of the day, is it just about semantics? Well, not really. There are reasons why people tend to separate different headphones into different categories, which is why we've decided to cover what is it exactly that defines and separates the biggest major categories.

Studio Headphones

Generally speaking, studio headphones are designed for professional work first and foremost. These models' sound signatures are much more suitable for recording and/or mixing. At the same time, these headphones are usually versatile enough often versatile to match and exceed your average entertainment listening purposes.

These headphones' biggest strength is almost always the build quality. They have to be tough enough to withstand field recording work. More often than not, these headphones incorporate metal headband at their core. The plastic is usually higher grade too.

The downside is that these models seldom deliver in the aesthetics department.

A completely neutral sound signature is pretty much an oxymoron. However, studio headphones will usually have tunings that work to render the source audio as faithfully as possible. This makes these headphones brighter and, more often than not, far more detailed than consumer-oriented models.

On the negative side, you'll be able to hear just about every flaw in your recording, mixing, mastering, and/or compression. Different distortions, background noise, failed edits, and so much more will become much more evident due to studio tuning.

All that being said, studio headphones are seldom marketed/advertised outside specific Internet circles, making these models very attractive as far as the price-performance ratio is concerned.

Consumer Headphones

Consumer headphones is the biggest category on the market. First things first, these models always deliver on the aesthetics front. They always look stylish. The people behind these headphones always do an excellent job hiding all the screws. They seldom feature exposed cables. These headphones usually sit very close to the head. Consumer models always come in many different colour schemes. We're not saying that these headphones necessarily disappoint in other departments. What we're saying is that these headphones are more or less always design-first.

At the same time, your average consumer headphones pair is usually as feature-packed as they come. We're talking wireless functionality, phone control as well as call support, multiple device connection, active noise-cancelling tech. More often than not, the latest advancements on the feature front come from the consumer segment.

Last but not least, consumer headphones are known for warmer signatures, incorporating boosted bass as well as relaxed treble. They seldom are the most detailed and/or accurate headphones. These models are designed with your average customer in mind, listening to music for hours on end.

Gaming Headsets

We've already talked at great length about gaming headsets, so we will keep things brief here. Plus, it's not like gaming headsets differ that much from consumer headphones. The biggest difference comes from the "headset" part. These peripheral devices keep things particularly convenient for gamers, packing quality microphones and headphones together. You don't have to deal with extra cables. You don't have to purchase these two peripherals separately.

Another little detail that usually separates gaming headsets is virtual surround sound support. The tech is able to bring additional immersion layers to the audio equation and make your gameplay that much more enthralling.

Other than that, it is all about the little extra details that different put into their products. More often than not, gaming headsets are the most comfortable peripherals because your average gaming session lasts much longer than your average movie and/or recording session.
